Compared to May 2012, Labour +11.5%, Lib Dem -5.4%, Conservative -2.6% and no UKIP -3.5%
Bigger change from say 2011, Labour +27.4%, Conservative -22.1%, Lib Dem -5.2%.

It appears there was some controversy about plans to build a supermarket in Shipston. However this wasn't your standard NIMBY campaign as Jeff Kenner was actually the only candidate to support the plans, while Con+LD were both opposed.

I gathered that and from the comments on the local rag (online obviously) there was a lot of support for the supermarket. If I was voting on those lines alone I might have voted for him myself

Some confusion over East Walworth - half an hour after everyone noted that the turnout was 20.13%, the council has announced it was 25.35%. Did the first one not include postal votes?

@sdcelects - Jeff Kenner (Labour) elected in Shipston by-election with 613 votes. Turnout 39.56%. Lab 613 LD 575 Con 331 Labour 40.4% +11.6% Liberal Democrats 37.9% -5.4% Conservatives 21.8% -2.6%

The Western Isles by-election was due to start counting at 10am - result expected soon. Independent gain I think from what I've heard so far
