I think we might be having a first-time winner in this month's competition .... ... which is always good news, in my book.

What the heck has happened to Dawden- they only had two candidates to count, after all, and we've known the overall outcome for hours?

What the heck has happened to Dawden- they only had two candidates to count, after all, and we've known the overall outcome for hours? The harbour is still frozen solid, the railway line is impassable following mining subsidence, the roads have major potholes, the pigeons all have bird-flu and the telephone lines are still 5 miles away. Still someone is walking to the offices in Durham with the detailed result but has been waylaid by highwaymen. PS my wife comes from that part of the Country so I have a special insight!!

I was beginning to develop another theory - they couldn't have discovered that the Labour candidate who was elected in May, disqualified, and now stood again , is still disqualified? That would be too hilarious for words.

Thanks,Hempie -you were very unlucky to lose your lead from last week, especially after doing so well with the OWL this week. Just a bad jump on Dawdon did for you, I think -maybe you thought the voters would penalise the Labour candidate for making them turn out again? If so it was a reasonable assumption but evidently it didn't happen. Of course we were all lucky to not have to compete with Pete... didn't he try to claim that months without him didn't count to the form guide?!
