Its reported that Lula is not only free pending appeal but also free to run for President pening appeal. Only if his appeal fails he'll be banned from running for office. Therefore I'll not reset the thread poll until and unless that happens. Indeed, it's a low-level court. Judgements are only executed immediately, without hearing the appeal, if the jail term is over 20 years, in Brazil. |

The orange hair originated in Tibet around the nether regions of a Yak.
On a more serious note (if anything can be more serious than the architectural marvel that is the Trump rug): although not elected, possibly the nearest to meet the question is the former Governor-General of Canada, Michaelle Jean, who was born in Haiti.

Also if you're counting people from the Levant as non white then Carlos Menem's parents came from Syria, from near the Lebanese border in fact Another one I forgot. And I believe he was the only Argentine president with neither Spanish nor Italian ancestry (though I think Nestor Kirchner was of Swiss and Croat ancestry, but might not have been exclusive). |

I can increasingly see Bolsonaro topping the first round (if Lula is barred), and then being defeated by a unity candidate of some sort in the second.
If Doria runs, he could end up being that man.
