Polling station was quite busy at 11am when I went to vote. Three people waiting before us and encountered three neighbors on their way to vote when walking back.

Well, likely to be good here at Ross, Skye and Lochaber because it always is in a close-knit communitarian area where people have a wider view and really know about inter-dependability. But it will be less in Merseyside and less again at Stoke Central.
Compare and contrast to 2015? Who knows? I guess it will be fewer rather than more, but that is based on conflicting assumptions of :
High TO of keen Corbynistas High TO of concerned and frightened Right Reduced TO of Remainers. Reduced TO of UKIP and Greens Reduced TO of unconcerned and newly turned off and don't care Higher TO of newly registered Young?
How does that all net out and will the variance across the country be significant?

One thing I have learned from being involved in six general election campaigns, is that rumours on the day about turnout are usually b*ll*cks. Even after the polls have closed a lot of the rumours are rubbish. For instance there were about 5 elections in a row where the turnout in Torbay was reported as being very high at about 10:30pm and each time it was disappointing.

I've just voted (Esher and Walton; exciting! ) Asked the clerks ticking off the voters. They said 'about the same as two years ago'.

Just voted. Seemed not too different to usual. A handful of people went in and out, no queue. One younger person, the rest definitely over 60.

Any reason why info about turnout at polling stations isn't made available on the mainland. Here polling stations here have sheets with turnout to be filled in at 12pm, 5pm and 9pm. Noon figures have had turnout at just below 20% in most boxes.

One thing I have learned from being involved in six general election campaigns, is that rumours on the day about turnout are usually b*ll*cks. (Takes deep breath ...) The only people who can comment usefully on relative turnout are Presiding Officers who always work the same "patch" (and have a good memory) and parties who have maintained (and retained) good telling records over several elections. Turnout patterns also vary from area to area. In my old ward the turnout at 4pm - doubled - was the overall turnout nine times out of ten. But probably not now. And in other areas it could be totally different. In Crewe & Nantwich the electorates of individual polling stations vary from 177 to 1800+ So anecdotes of "only a trickle" or "there were six of us in a queue" are meaningless.

I voted around 3:00pm - a traditionally dead time - at the Methodist Church on Hermon Hill, here in Leyton and Wanstead. There was an elderly Indian couple in front of me, but nobody else apart from two tables of bored-looking election officials. The one teller outside was from Labour. I imagine that Conservative helpers are all in neighbouring Ilford North, from whence the reports that have reached me are not optimistic.

Steady in Birmingham Perry Barr this afternoon. About the same as 2015. I expect Mahmood's majority to be under 10,000.

Presiding Officer in a very Conservative village in my Constituency told me that turnout was "on a par with the Brexit vote". I cast a couple of proxy votes at 7.45pm in a deprived section of one of our towns and, even allowing for postals, the turnout from the marked register was significantly below 50%.

There were a lot of proxy votes being cast while I was telling. Far more than I ever remember from previous elections.
