are we going to have a prediction competition on this??? Predicting what? I predict that most of the candidates who are in the lead in the first round will win in the second round. Is that precise enough?

Here's my prediction fwiw lighter shades indicate a lower confidence level - Kent appears there only because of what Pimp said. They may be other areas for all I know where there is a plausible Independent candidate. The two area in the SW are interesting because they are places where ordinarily the Lib Dems could challenge strongly

On the basis that over 90% of the population are probably ineligible to stand for the position and therefore think why should they vote?

What a boring stereotype. www.sevenstreets.com/city-living/announcements-city-living/liverpool-named-as-the-second-safest-city-to-live-in/"The UK Statistics Authority last week, at the request of MP Philip Hollobone, released crime figures that spanned across the country’s police forces. Amongst other things, they confirm Liverpool’s the second safest UK city to live in, after Newcastle. You wouldn’t think it, reading the red-faced horror headlines every day in the local media, but it’s true..." www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2012/10/31/liverpool-one-of-the-safest-cities-in-the-uk-100252-32133606/"LIVERPOOL is one of the safest cities in the country to live in, new figures show. Manchester, London, Birmingham, Leeds and Sheffield all have more car crimes and burglaries per person than Liverpool."

I supposed the unlind would say that there is nothing worth nicking in Liverpool.

I do love Liverpool as a city. It's the closest thing England has to Glasgow (which I accept may not be to everyone's tastes, but Glasgow is my kind of city).

I can forsee independents & parties who can pick up protest votes (UKIP) doing much better than expected due to low turnouts & there being a number of electors who think it should be non political.

will predict Turnout for West Midlands at 13.4% Turnout for the country slightly higher at 17.2%
Will predict due to such a low turnout there will be shocks and predict based on these some will panic.
My outside bet is that Warwickshire turns Red.

There are only a few likely marginals. In a lot of the country the more interesting contest might actually be for second. Certainly I've just seen the Lib Dem leaflet for Cambridgeshire and it seems to be primarily anti-Labour, although I'll grant that might be less down to strategy than the fact that Cambridge Lib Dems are primarily an anti-Labour force these days.
