Le Pen, which is no surprise as I would of voted for her in the first round. How Macron can be considered an outsider by some is laughable. Not quite as laughable as Le Pen trying to label herself as apolitical outsider. She has effectively been a professional politician since joining the legal department of the Front National in 1998. Well she's never even got close to anything remotely resembling power outside her own party, so in that sense she is an outsider. I'd vote for her as Macron was by far the worst candidate of the big four. All the others would've shaken things up one way or the other, he'll just prolong France's downward trajectory and agony (outside the 10 or 15 big cities that is). Anyway I wonder how many départements she'll win?

Definitely not Macron. Almost definitely not Le Pen.

Latest joke from France - "Very Oedipal this second round - it's between the one who killed her father, and the one who married his mother."

results are better than I thought they would be. I guess the GE has reduced the density of committed fascists on the site.

He's going to be a new Giscard, except that Giscard's wife wasn't old enough to be his mother.
He'll have a few years of gimmicky meetings with binmen and then get done over by a cannibal dictator with a bag of diamonds.

It's a tough choice. On balance, I'd go for Le Pen despite being closer to Macron. France needs a shake up and the EU needs a kick up the backside.

A definite abstention I dislike LePen more but there's not enough I like about Macron to vote for him. His social agenda is fine but I won't vote for anyone lauding liberal economics "Let Hitler take office. He will soon go bankrupt, and then it will be our day" - Hermann Remmele, KPD member of the Reichstag. I mean he wasn't wrong, it just took rather longer than anticipated and only applied to part of the country...

Not sure if a country with all manner of public order and domestic terrorism problems particularly needs 'shaking up' (as many here seem to desire), but then I'm not a sociopath.

A poor choice between an economic protectionist and a corporatist...I'd reluctantly vote for Le Pen

My interest is economic, as ever. They all realise that things are going wrong but none of them want to grasp the nettle. Obviously I'm rather anxious to prevent too much social shaking up!

Corporatist in its correct sense is probably closer to what Le Pen is offering... Probably both corporatist to be honest. The first (?) corporatist was Mussolini. But I believe there are striking parallels with the way the EU works with vested interests and against the public and small rivals to the various vested interests. Macron is pro-EU so I am happy to describe him as a corporatist.
