Just seen a Labour election address focusing on Wythenshawe hospital and 'Tory cuts'. Fails to mention that the hospital is facing serious financial stress due to the PFI scheme that's running it into the ground that Labour introduced. This is why I get so angry at Labour, especially in Manchester. Completely agree. Labour deny their complicity at every turn, but denial ain't just a river in Egypt. I'd welcome a UKIP win here.

Does the UKIP candidate mention that he was a disillusioned Labour voter, or that his family were Labour voters. It seems difficult to get him to be straight on that one. Again though, I have been sworn straight on doorsteps that people would vote one way and then the truth being somewhat different on the day. As for the lady and the Polish 'taking the jobs' mantra, I remember that a business lady rang up a radio show about the 'Polish taking our jobs' and said that when she had advertised a part-time job, three English applicants said there weren't enough hours to make it worth their while, whereas a young Polish lady said she would buy a bike, so that she could fit this job in with her 2 other part-time jobs. She said: "I wanted to give an English person a job, but it was only a Polish girl who showed any real wish to work".

he will make the step eventually Eventually being when there is a LD/Lab coalition. He has almost said as much. The question is whether it would be to nonaligned, tory or UKIP.

Did the Labour Party kill his teddy bear or something?

Did the Labour Party kill his teddy bear or something? I don't think he will ever be able to forgive the Labour Party for causing him abject humiliation by incompetently allowing him to be elected.

Do you mean for potentially endangering his relationship?
That was the Co-operative Party, though.

I have heard nothing about this and I can't stand dirty campaigning. I will be in the constituency tomorrow and will be watching but I feel this is more like 'Chinese whispers' and getting the excuses out first. I am not sure why you just accept it as true doktorb, it all seems part of a new press strategy to me.

We obviously mean business as I have had 'the email call to the hustings' to assist and support. I imagine I must be one of the members at greatest remove from the constituency. I am unable to go....this time.

Because obviously making a series of unsubstantiated smears is the definition of clean politics. I think we can take it as read that Farage is complaining largely because it turns out that Labour does "own" (if we must use that verb) the working-class vote in the seat.

I love the use of the term "openly racist party" as though its bad for the BNP to be openly racist but okay for UKIP to be only subtly racist. UKIP posturing on the immigration issue is a load of tripe; if, by some freak accident, they come anywhere near power, I guarantee that they will do nothing to end mass immigration.
Anyway, I may be naive in taking anything the modern BNP says without a tonne of salt, is Eddy O'Sullivan's "this is the best campaign we've ever run" line a load of bullshit or is there actually a decent presence down there? I've seen a few video thumbnails showing Clive Jefferson, or some other goon, shouting down a megaphone, but I daren't watch them for fear of how cringe-worthy or embarrassing they might be.

Its a fair bet Farage and his party wouldn't be making these noises if they thought they were going to get a good result this week, never mind win. I do apologise that the local Labour party is well organised and not just rolling over for them
