Incumbent- Kim McGuinness, Labour.
McGuinness is standing for election as Mayor of the North East. I thought this role was being absorbed into that but can't see that confirmed online. If it is the case, I'll delete the thread. There is no poll for this reason.

Northumbria PCC area only covers the northern part, the remainder i.e. County Durham being part of the County Durham and Darlington PCC area. This needs sorting out, but afaik it hasn't been done yet. So I presume there will be a Northumbria PCC election and she won't be standing for re-election.

The SNP did replace all the regional police authorities with Police Scotland

Labour candidate is Susan Dungworth. An excellent choice. The only other Dungworth I ever remember coming across was that guy who was Aldershot's all time record scorer or something like that. (Late 1970s).

(Late 1970s). There was a Dungworth in the village I grew up in, but there were several in Sheffield along with a hamlet of the same name.

There was a bit of breath of relief when Susan Dungworth was selected for Blyth Valley over Carbynate Kate Osborne (who then got Jarrow...and an equal big swing against anyway but the seat was safer).
