On the train back from London this evening I pointed out to my Conservative colleagues that, for the next four years, my sister is going to be living under a reign of terror in which a mad left-wing revolutionary is going to commission crimes, whereby organised gangs of hooligans will go rampaging through the streets vandalising old ladies, glueing teenagers to the pavement and destroying civilization. They laughed at me.
