Labour ahead everywhere except Derbyshire Dales, and that was close. This is going to be a big win.

Slightly odd pattern of results - you wouldn't expect when the Tories are losing Rushcliffe and nearly losing Derbyshire Dales that they'd be within a few hundred votes of holding Erewash. Not a Red Wall thing either - it's a much better result for them there and in Amber Valley than on the other side of the county border.

The Tory candidate is rather better known in Nottinghamshire than Derbyshire…

BTW I don't think the Mansfield declaration has been posted here. It would be interesting to see how that went.

Bradley never broke away from the party in the manner of Houchen or Street and so got the trouncing any generic Tory would have received here. Decent results for both Green and Reform. Delighted to see the Lib Dems last and losing their deposit.

I suppose as a sitting MP creating that kind of distance would have been more difficult

Ashfield Labour - 7,130 Conservative - 5,687 Indy - 3,570 Reform UK - 3,532 Green - 1,482 LDm - 579 I don't think Lee Anderson is happy at this result. If you added 10,000 votes to each of the top 4 candidates, wouldn't seem like an implausible result for the next general election in this seat, albeit with turnout inflated

South Derbyshire
Labour 7359 Conservative 6525 Reform 2997 Green 2059 Independent 1011 Lib Dem 695 (!)
It’s worth saying that South Derbyshire constituency excludes two wards from the district that are together generally strongly Conservative so the constituency was comfortably carried by Labour. Surprisingly good Green performance in an area where they have no base at all. The Reform candidate sits on Derby City Council but I believe still lives in South Derbyshire.
