www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cv2yr4rp382oI accept that I have a fairly stern view of council business and, even when I was one, wasn’t keen on councils debating subjects that lay beyond their powers or didn’t relate to government action on local government business. This looks like being a pretty bitter round of elections here. What a mess. To abandon the meeting completely seems utterly crackers.

Yes, suspending it is correct and understandable but abandonment seems odd. The disturbance appeared at the milder end of the scale - I watched the video expecting much more. She was, presumably, advised by the officers to act as she did.

So, utterly spineless and supine councillor.

As of today, 5 March, 4 of the 7 Labour councillors elected in 2021 and coming up for re-election this May, are now sitting as Independents, viz Sabina Arthur (Braybrooke) Claire Carr (Castle) Maya Evans (Hollington) Ali Roark (Tressell) Evans defeated by Labour 37 to 32% Arthur didn't stand and the ward went Greens
