Surely Italy in late 90s and early 00s would have plenty to nominations. Everybody was naming lists after themselves (Lista Bonino, Patto Segno, Lista Dini) and then you got the Olive Tree, the Daisy, the Sunflower. Blairism Thatcherism Gaullism Bonapartism Stalinism Aren't "isms" slightly different from actually naming a party after yourself, though? The CPSU wasn't renamed the Stalin Party, or indeed New Labour the Blair Party.

It is all part of the personality cult concept and there was a Gaullist Party that did not at the time cause any cringe as far as I was then aware.

Yes there was/is a large French political tendency colloquially known as Gaullism (to an extent to this day, though less so in recent years) but the actual main Gaullist political parties always had titles like Rally Of The French People (the original incarnation post WW2) and so on.

We should have a thread for cringiest party names. Obviously Macron naming a party after himself, but Spartans has to be up there. Everybody was naming lists after themselves (Lista Bonino, Patto Segno, Lista Dini) and then you got the Olive Tree, the Daisy, the Sunflower. Anything involving Emma Bonino can be filed under "ridiculous".

I'm not aware of a party using "Gaullist" in its title, but there are a number of political associations/pressure groups that do. Since Manu renamed his party, the only party of any consequence named after anyone is Le Pen senior's Joan of Arc Committees.
