Think that was the Lib Dem candidate I just saw giving a TV interview. Did she look like this?

Thanks Pete, I had been trying to place Carlton's familiar-looking avatar.
My brother was a maths lecturer in Rhodesia for a few years until he realised Ian Smith was about to call him up and so he moved to the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, and then to Malawi where he married a Malawian and moved back to the UK where they had five lovely children, now grown up. Coincidentally they live in Eckington, which is extremely close to Carlton in Lindrick compared to Malawi, at any rate.
I often wonder what connection those people who decide to use a photo feel with their avatar, an amusing game.. In the case in point I will go with:
"person who doesn't believe in democracy and wants to turn back time"
And one of the places between Carlton and Eckington, Andrew, is Rhodesia! At the time I was a very considerable fan. On my forward list of avatars I include Enoch Powell, Duke of Wellington, Warren Hastings, Cecil Rhodes and Robert Clive. No place for Vlad the Impaler, Genghis Khan or Hastings Banda then?

No place for Vlad the Impaler, Genghis Khan or Hastings Banda then? Try harder Chris. You just snatched at those names and they don't make the point at all do they? Forget Warren - how about Stephen Hastings MP? I seem to recall he had a large photo collection of Ian Smith in his house alongside his strong views on Rhodesia, the commonwealth etc. I doubt anyone has a photo collection or avatar of Sir Stephen....you could be the first and get everyone guessing?

Think that was the Lib Dem candidate I just saw giving a TV interview. She's just tweeted about doing a TV interview for ITV in Hay-on-Wye, so sounds like a good spot.

Have to report the appearance of a light aircraft towing a banner reading “Vote Brexit Party”.
Shopkeeper in one of the bookshops was having a discussion with a friend speculating that Chris Davies was forced to be the Conservative candidate somewhat against his will as the party thought it was certain to lose and didn’t want it against the record of someone else.
The friend thought Davies would win by under a thousand majority.

Reporting from Breconshire - lots of Lib Dem diamonds around Hay-on-Wye, a few Tory posters as well. I spotted a Labour GOTV team doing the rounds but not having many names on the list. Nothing from anyone else. Only Lib Dems and Tories taking numbers, but there were quite a lot of voters for a polling district of about 1,500. Ain’t Hay-on-Wye a fantastic place name

Probably best not to take a selfie with him, however!

That’s the best case scenario. Yeah I imagine so. I'm much more disappointed with Chris Davies here (who has a history of being a Rennard apologist) than my party's Brecon campaign team, who didn't neccessarily do anything wrong.

I put £5 on it. Coincidentally, it's the same amount and the same prospective winnings, £37.50, as my punt on Leave. So, here's hoping for a redux.😉

Rennard looks like he's lost a bit of weight.
And has Chris Davies swapped noses with Stephen Fry?

One is someone whose past sexual harassment would have him out of the party if the current party rules applied retroactively, the other is someone who has been dismissive of the evidence-backed allegations against the former. Neither of those things are remotely liberal. I'm tired of people trying to defend the indefensible just because it's their chums doing it - that applies to you as well as Chris. I seriously cannot wait for Lords reform.
