Not that I can say publicly! I had many run-ins with Paul Lally once upon a time. But, he's a bloody good campaigner. His fellow Councillor there was Viv Ward, a lovely lady but who took absolutely no prisoners.

Well the Independents can form a group there now - and as big as the LibDem one! The Clayton and Didsbury Technical Group. What a thought. If the Greens get a seat next May, or Dobbo gets a mate elected in Clayton (unlikely), they'd be able to form the opposition. Then what job title would Leech give himself?

Well, depending on whether the LibDems managed to win more than one ward themselves. Its an amusing possibility though

Then what job title would Leech give himself? It'll be the return of "Lib Dem Frontbench Team" or "Focus Squad" or the like.

This has already been covered on the Kingston thread. Thanks - seen it now (and the statement from the ex-leader). That blood is going to some time to get out of the carpet...

Expelled by Labour for posting on Facebook that Johnson deserved to get Covid-19.

Expelled by Labour for posting on Facebook that Johnson deserved to get Covid-19. Not expelled from the party - that is something only the national party can do. She has had the Labour whip withdrawn, which is a decision of the borough Labour group. Given the national press gets Labour Party disciplinary procedures wrong constantly, perhaps a local paper can be forgiven for not understanding them.

Yes, it’s a pretty crappy first line of the story which says “expelled from the Labour Party”; I should’ve read to the bottom.

It's quite a fortunate misunderstanding as it's the first Labour disciplinary issue to come up under the new leader and it looks a massive contrast to what has gone before.

The person posting this doxxing has a "Protect the NHS" logo?? But also a picture of Boris, which whilst not justifying, at least explains the motivation.

The woman in question, Councillor Sheila Oakes, Mayor of Heanor in Derbyshire - who said Boris Johnson deserves all he gets - has had the Labour whip removed, and further action is to follow. The implicit threat against her is unacceptable, though the insult is just vulgar abuse.

I know all that, and I said the post wasn’t justifiable, but there seemed surprise from mboy that the poster’s avatar expressed support for the NHS. I was merely pointing out that the fact the poster’s avatar was a picture of Boris overlaid by a love the NHS Twibbon probably explained her motivation (specifically the clear support for Boris), but again, because you seem to have difficulty grasping my point, doesn’t justify it.

I was merely linking the two stories to provide context for anyone who didn't know who she was. I wasn't really replying to you specifically. EDIT I now see that some earlier posts did make clear who she was, even though the screenshot from @priceofdawn didn't.
