From a policy perspective I don’t see what the point of his joining the Conservatives would be, after making a thing of abolishing the Assembly, because the party just isn’t going to adopt that position.

Rumour that this will happen shortly, to coincide with the renaming of The Assembly to The Welsh Parliament.

Bennett to the Abolish the Assembly party. (although as it hasn't happened by now, it's probably not happening this week)

Thank you for that. It comes as no surprise.... I have never met him but have seen him getting pissed in the Earnest Willows before now.

If I were them I'd stick with Abolish the Assembly.
Abolish puts them top of the (regional) ballot and Assembly will still be associated with the institution by the public (especially the devo-sceptic public) in 12 months time.

Rob Roberts MP for Delyn is going to lose Conservative Whip. Seems he has been doing some very unconservative things in his free time.

Rob Roberts MP for Delyn is going to lose Conservative Whip. Seems he has been doing some very unconservative things in his free time. Including most notably hosting a party in his house in breach of lockdown regulations. For the sake of possible lawsuits, he has said that he no longer lives there as he has separated from his wife, who still does, and while the party was going on, he was in London.

Just to note that Neale Hanvey was granted the SNP whip on 29 May.

Nothing to do with his wife's party. More to do with his very lively gay socialising....

So the Abolish Wales Party - sorry the Abolish the Assembly Party - have signed him up eventually. A smart move if he wants to keep his seat I suppose as UKIP is a dead duck.
