Washington state is not looking amazing for the GOP... There figures are atrocious in several safe Democrat districts but they held up pretty well in the in the 8th (took about 50% of the vote) which has always looked like a difficult defence for them. Currently 47.1% if you combine the three Republicans to 49.9% for the four Democrats with 68% reporting. In District 5 Cathy McMorris Rodgers is only 525 votes ahead of her Democratic opponent, and combining all the Republicans barely puts her over 50%. Only 64% reporting though, so it’s possible McMorris Rodgers has a lot of favourable territory still to report. And in the 3rd District Jaime Herrera Beutler is only on 40.9% with 70% reporting, and combining the Republican vote only gets her to 49.7%, so effectively a dead heat in that District.

He's already been to New Hampshire and he's booked to go back. On the Democratic side, I notice that John Delaney (the only declared candidate) has been repeatedly turning up in Iowa.

Yes, 'even the government don't accuse him of selling shares.' Just everyone he knows.

Same thing happened in the Kansas Republican primary where they suddenly found a net ~60 votes to cut the margin of victory for Kris Kobach to only 120. Funnily enough, Kobach is in charge of counting the votes as Secretary of State and appears to have previously incorrectly noted them...

Not anymore, he's not: he has refused himself at his opponent's (the sitting Governor) request.

Not anymore, he's not: he has refused himself at his opponent's (the sitting Governor) request. And, to be fair to him, it’s not an uncommon occurrence; the results are handwritten on a form at precinct level, which is then scanned and emailed or faxed to County level who check them before forwarding the email or fax to the State elections board who publish the figures the media use.

American identity is a hodgepodge of many mainly European cultures combined, in a melting pot. That's so often said; but doesn't it apply rather to Brazil? Aren't the USA more a sum of segregative communities? Aren't there ghettos in Brazil?

Rejoice, rejoice.
Hawaii Governor David Ige has survived a strong primary challenge from Rep Colleen Hanabusa. This is the second time that the dreadful Hanabusa has given up her House seat to run statewide only to lose the Democratic primary.
