BBC Parliament (as we know) always likes to show elections that have anniversaries, therefore believe that this year we will have the following election replays
Election 1987 (Con maj 104), Election 1992 (Con maj 21), Election 1997 (Lab maj 179)
As well as those elections, I would like to hope that they will also show the following (because of their constitutional impact)
Scottish Parliament Referendum 1997, Welsh Assembly Referendum 1997
If that is indeed the case, then the schedule would probably look like this:
Sunday, April 9th 2017: Election 1992 (9.00am - 10.30pm) Monday, May 1st 2017: Election 1997 (8.00am - 11.00pm) Sunday, June 11th 2017: Election 1987 (9.00am - 9.30pm)
with the referenda likely to be shown on September 16th (Scotland) and 17th (Wales)

Following precedent, they probably won't be replayed on the precise anniversaries, especially if they fall between Monday and Friday. They will certainly replay the general election coverage, but I'm more doubtful about the referenda. It might be worth making enquiries.

It might be possible to get something shown to mark the 20th anniversary of those referendums, I would have thought.

It will be broadcast on Saturday, April 8th 2017 from 0900 BST until 2240 BST, therefore if anyone is game for a live tweeting exercise I certainly am

I didn't see it first time around - I spent much of the night at Newham Town Hall!

I wish they'd start showing the Euro-election programmes. 1994 was quite interesting IIRC. I did have it on video at one time but it got wiped I think.

A few years back I suggested some of the classic byelection specials would make good repeats.

They should set aside at least one day a week for old election coverage at all levels of government, perhaps at a time when Parliament isn't sitting - and surely there's plenty of scope there. Each Sunday show local election results programmes from one year to the next. And it would be nice if ITV/ITN would set up a rival channel and show their old election coverage, too.

I'd very much like to see ITN's election shows in 1974 and 1979 but there don't seem to be even short clips available anywhere. ITN Source doesn't seem to include anything from those programmes whenever I've done a search.

The only clip I have ever seen of the 1974 elections from ITN was in the BBC Swing Time programme ahead of Election 1997 when they reported that ITN used a knitting machine to create their graphics

Brief ITV clips on YouTube:-
Please note their October '74 forecast...far more accurate than the (initial) BBC forecast.

I didn't see it first time around - I spent much of the night at Newham Town Hall! They managed to fit three seats into there? The last count, for two, was done in the Velodrome with a rather larger hall.

Have any of the 21st century general elections had an anniversary replay yet? From a neutral lens I think 2005 was the most watchable of them and arguably the last one that wasn't a complete waffle-and-speculationfest. The 'memorable moments' of the 2010 and 2015 elections didn't feel as memorable as the likes of the Portillo Moment because the BBC came off as being more interested in whether the Lib Dems would talk to Labour or the Tories first, whether Ed Miliband could survive as leader, whether Scottish independence was now inevitable etc.

I have a vague idea 2001 might have been shown but could be imagining it.

The 2001 election has been shown, because I've got a copy in widescreen and I didn't have widescreen reception at the time of the election.
The others may have technically been repeated on BBC Parliament but only on the weekend after they actually happened.

I've got a copy of the BBC 1992 election night, I can upload it somewhere if you want?
