when do we get a poll? (and please don't say May 4th) There won't be any polls. There never are for by-elections. Who would pay for them? |

There were actually some by-election polls in the last parliament (both Survation and [Lord] Ashcroft did them IIRC) Fair to say they varied in their accuracy.

There was a poll early on in Richmond Park commissioned by the Standard..
And someone tweeted they had been phoned by Survation in Gorton, but no sign of it so presumably either Labour or Lib Dems testing the water?

If this is a poll of who we would vote for it should include all candidates. If it is a poll of who we think will win it obviously shouldn't but I would suggest a selection of possible outcomes such as Lab 1st Lib Dem 2nd, Lab 1st Galloway 2nd etc

Galloway previously gave an address that was despite the NW10 postcode, actually in Hammersmith & Fulham. It was one of several streets in the extreme north of the borough, beyond Wormwood Scrubs that really belong in Brent. Either Galloway has moved since then (he gave that address for Mayor of London) or someone somewhere along the line has put the wrong constituency in, either by accident or deliberately. |

According to his website, he's Qassim Afzal (MA) and he's studying for a doctorate. It's a very poor website.

The only reference I can find to David Hopkins, meanwhile, within the Manchester Gorton area is that of a convicted criminal. However, there are lots of people called David Hopkins so I do not think they are one and the same regarding this matter.
