Has there been any sign anywhere of the actual petition text for Peterborough?

Anyone got the Electoral Commission doubtful ballot paper booklets to hand? I think I've seen an example of exactly this given in one of them. Here it is. Unable to sleep, I got up early for a cup of tea and decided to have a proper look at this document. I might be a bit bleary-eyed, but I can see no reference at all in the examples (page 8 onward) to confusing ballot papers of the Three Rivers type (no. 1552, Shaw and Sons' examples 32-34). Maybe I've missed something? There's a danger that ROs, nearly 30 years after the Chorleywood case, could make an 'error' if they depend on the Electoral Commission's document when adjudicating dubious papers like this.

Has there been any sign anywhere of the actual petition text for Peterborough? Expect it to be produced after the next General Election?

All that and we never actually saw the petition text! Since the application confirms the Returning Officer was a respondent it's poor that Peterborough never published it.

The hearing is moot due to the fact Lisa Forbes could potentially lose her seat at the 12 December general election anyway.

I suppose it could technically determine whether she's entitled to a payout for losing it. MPs only qualify for a payout if they’ve served 12 months plus consecutively and are then defeated. (Sarah Onley, Richmond Park is an example of this).

Today is 21 calendar days after the results of the general election were declared and returned to the Clerk of the Crown - the deadline for an election petition. (Unlike most other deadlines relating to election law, public holidays and weekends are not excluded)
Lots of ignorant chat on social media about postal votes and whatnot but I haven't seen any evidence of an actual petition.

Isn't there a second deadline for petitions arising from election expense returns (which aren't due to be handed in until the 17th)?

Petitioners have to seek permission out of time.

Yes, we have a petition arising from the 2019 general election. It's in East Ham constituency and is from Kamran Malik, who was the unsuccessful 'Communities United Party' candidate.

Interesting. It could be, of course, that what was witnessed was a bundle of 100 Labour block votes transferred out of the Tory block vote pile. I am surprised that the RO refused the agents a chance to witness a quick bundle check. Brent have form when it comes to wrongly assigning vote bundles, as anyone who witnessed their total uselessness at the London North-West Euro constituency count in 1989 will remember......
