If it were real, there'd be several spelling mistakes and it would be written in orange crayon

I am not saying it warrants sackings but the election night call of Arizona was a bad call and the fact that Biden did eventually win Arizona doesn't change that. There is no way that they had enough information to call it when they did and had they believed it was going to be anything like as close as it was they wouldn't have called it. Yes, the call was at best wildly premature, and the available evidence for several days afterwards indicated a substantial probability (though most likely never an odds-on one) that it would eventually prove wrong. And Murdoch certainly won't have liked reputational damage with the target audience for his product (and who else would Murdoch worry about, rather than simply attack?). But if so, the timing of this move looks incredibly off - why wait for over two months after it became obvious that the call had been made on inadequate evidence, particularly when it meant that Fox couldn't credibly line up behind "stop the steal"? Of course, for the past two weeks, platforms and outlets that lined up behind "stop the steal" have been having some severe reputational problems with advertisers and service providers - but that consequence wasn't particularly obvious beforehand, which may actually mean that the bad call was a blessing in disguise. So why, in effect, disown it just now?

Just a little thought as I ruminate about todays events.
Joe Biden is the 46th President of the United States.
He is my personal 15th POTUS, just about a third of all of them have happened in my lifetime.
American history is a very short timespan, isn't it?

Biden is my fifth. The fact that three of them served eight years pads that out a bit.

Well, now I am confused about something else. It had never occurred to me to pronounce her name in any other way than that which it transpires is the correct way, until the furore about the pronunciation began, causing me to wonder, then I came across a piece that quoted her pronouncing it "comma-la" It's not a name I had come across before, but the pronunciation seemed obvious, and it turns out, is obvious. No idea why this was ever a story. Maybe the pronunciation is less obvious to those with certain accents?

Americans don't pronounce "comma" the way we do which makes it confusing.

Gosh, they aren't such ingenues - Thomas Hinckley, 14th Plymouth Colony Governor (1680-86) is the 8x great grandfather of President George H. W. Bush.

Your first 4 POTUSes got you up to the age of 25; my first 4 only lasted until I was 12. My first memory/awareness of American Presidential elections/inaugurations was when Carter became POTUS on this day in 1977, when I was 8. I remember him becoming President, and I knew in advance that he was going to become President, but I have no memory of Ford *being* the President, and no memory of the 1976 election.
