I hadn't realised that RAF Cranford was in the constituency.
What with Brize Norton in Witney and the Heathrow issue in Richmond Park, air power is becoming a bit of a theme.

And the result isn't even in doubt, so we may as well all get some kip.

The English average is just north of 70,000 and the UK-wide average about 68,000. An outrageous discrepancy.

That is too late for what we suspect to be a hold. Will not be up for that.

Might as well go to bed now and get up early, in that case.

Richmond Park electorate was up 13 on general election, Sleaford is up just 544 on general election. Other by-elections Batley and Spen: +1,400 Ogmore: -310 Oldham West and Royton: -3,344 Sheffield, Brightside: -4,650 Tooting: -2,098 Witney: +2,493 And Labour wonder why their seats are being eliminated in the Boundary Review?

32,893 votes have been verified, so the official turnout is 37.0%.

That would be surprising, but also terrible for Corbyn. It's what pretty much everyone except you predicted

It's what pretty much everyone except you predicted I can only see a couple on this thread, still the constituency has virtually no Lib Dem history. As Andrew posted upthread, parts of Hykeham went LD at the last County Council elections i.e. even during the coalition years.

Labour have no effective organisation at all in the constituency, barely even running candidates in district elections.

Burnham said stuff along those lines in last year's leadership election, its not new from him. And whatever "side" you are on, it needs to be understood that there is a difference between an approach of "some people *do* have genuine concerns about the effects of immigration - especially on their own communities - and that has to be dealt with" and the witless "MAOR RACISM!!" dog whistling from the likes of Reeves and Kinnock Jnr. Hold on Bish, did you just accuse Rachael Reeves and Stephen Kinnock - two of the most moderate people you'll find anywhere - of engaging in racist dog-whistling??? Don't you think you've cast the "racist" net just a wee bit too wide now?

In fairness to his grace, and I will happily given him stick when it is called for, I don't think that is quite what he is saying here.

The PLP moved too early. Needed to wait for results like this.Perhaps next year’s County Council results will provide the basis for another challenge.

Why anyone would care about poor results in hopeless areas? And replacing Corbyn is totally useless, I would argue the main Labour issue is that every MP has a different position on Brexit, on immigration. How can any leader argue a position when the party can't agree on any.

ITV are reporting a Conservative hold, close fight for second with UKIP ahead, Liberal Democrats in third, with uncertainty on whether or not Labour have held onto their deposit. Are they doing an election special on ITV?
