Hi there all. So i’ve been registered and reading the site for a while. I’d say I have an above average interest in politics, doubt I could call myself a psephologist but think I’ve learned useful things here that you wouldn’t in general political news. Enjoyed reading discussions about particular constituencies, elections, boundaries, polls, regional issues etc and it’s a great way to keep up with election results like the other week. Have felt an urge at times to post recently even if just to ask questions so thought I’d give an introduction post a go. For myself I’m based in the East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow constituency have been pretty much my whole life, family background Glasgow on one side Yorkshire on the other. Not aligned to any particular political party, although I did some volunteer work for Better Together which is my main experience of political activism, so as you’d guess I do have a particular interest in Scottish politics and the never ending constitutional debate. So anyway let’s see if I can give posting a go ha. Welcome to the asylum. Please deposit any remaining vestiges of sanity in the bucket by the door for safe disposal. Now onto the main question: railways or real ale? Also: What is your favourite cheese?

Feels like an entrance exam here 🤣 Exams have been cancelled you know. It is more like a form of continuous assessment by long serving inmates.

Though as it happens my son is spending next week sitting exams for his A level assessment. A month or so back he sat mocks in exam conditions in the school. So, there are no "exams", but there are exams. A bit like here, I suppose.

Hello! Long time lurker, don't post often.
I'm a former Conservative Borough and County Councillor from Bedworth, now studying Screenwriting at UCLAN. Still a member but not actively involved, so happy to be given blue letters on my name. Always interested in election results and politics.

Hi everyone! I joined a while ago, although I mainly lurk rather than post on this forum. My name is Ciaran, I’m an economics student, and some of my hobbies are political discussion and psephology, hence why I joined. I’m broadly right-libertarian in my outlook (so somewhat politically homeless!).

We should have a dedicated room for politically-homeless-broadly-right-libertarians.

Well, if anyone wishes to be part of a "Libertarian" forum group we all know who to ask. As for a private room, that depends on how much interest gets expressed.
