I realise that this is probably more to do with Google than Boundary assistant but what unusual sightings have you made?
Whilst checking the road linkage between wards each side of the William Girling reservoir between Chingford and Edmonton I zoomed in more than normal and found an aeroplane. First time I'd ever spotted one.
Given that it never disappears no matter how far you zoom in it seems the days when aerial photography was combined with satellite imagery are over.

I suspect this isn't what Erimus had in mind, but something I've noticed is that there seems to be one ward in Cornwall (Tintagel) that is in two detached parts; and a further two such wards in Wales (Llanfoist Fawr (Monmouthshire) and Pontamman (Carmarthenshire)).
Can anyone cast any light on this?

Most of it is the village of Milton, still (just) a separate settlement from the City of Cambridge. The River Cam is the eastern boundary of the ward, but part of the City of Cambridge (East Chesterton ward) projects north of the A14 and joins up to the river to cut off part of Fen Road which is still in South Cambridgeshire district. This bit of Milton ward really ought to be added to the City of Cambridge as the only way in or out of it is Fen Road, which is a dead end. It's cut off by the river to the East and the railway marshalling yard to the west.

It's cut off by the river to the East and the railway marshalling yard to the west. Up until a few years ago, Milton Parish Council didn't even seem to be aware that the parish included Chesterton Fen. These days they're aware, if still not particularly attentive. There are major issues locally with HGVs driven recklessly on Fen Road and through Chesterton, so there were suggestions a few years back of creating a new access road to the area, but it didn't get funding as part of the new station project (which is being built on the marshalling yard) and it seems to have fallen away. The picture is complicated further by the fact that most of the population of Chesterton Fen are travellers, who don't tend to get the most assiduous service from local government. Last I checked South Cambs were opposing any changes to the city boundary. I suspect this is ultimately because if you drew a sensible boundary along the A14, they'd lose the Science Park and the large amounts it generates in business rates.

There's a weird bit by Norfolk as well. Broadlands District is north of Norwich, but on the south side of Norwich there is a detached part squeezed between the river Yare and a river cutting. Norwich is additionally odd as it includes the River Yare itself halfway downstream to the coast. Other than at the New Cut detached part, the extension of Norwich along the Yare forms the boundary between Broadlands and South Norfolk.
