Worth noting that the 3 main opposition parties are all under varying degrees of control by the Kremlin.

Worth noting that the 3 main opposition parties are all under varying degrees of control by the Kremlin. Indeed. One reason why I didn't add a poll to the top of the thread. Well, I've added one. You know me. Now, what's the difference between the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Communists of Russia, apart from the latter getting negligible poll ratings? Speaking of poll ratings, only four (the top four listed in my poll) of the fourteen political parties regularly achieve over one per cent.

Its the same difference as between the Judean People's Front and the People's Front of Judea

The Communists of Russia are highly critical of Zyuganov's tolerance of the Orthodox Church, I think. I may be wrong.

Useful reminder that the first exit polls will be based solely on the party list vote. Thus not including the 225 FPTP seats, which will all go to United Russia or others from Putin's All-Russia People's Front. www.dw.com/en/opinion-the-kremlin-has-a-firm-grip-on-russia/a-19559225Second reminder (which is likely superfluous on this forum): "the other three political parties in the Duma - the Communist Party of Russia, Vladimir Zhirinovsky's rightwing populist LDPR, and A Just Russia - are also core components of Vladimir Putin's system of rule. From a German point of view, the three seem reminiscent of the old East German "block parties." They lend the Russian political system the outward appearance of plurality, but in fact they are all controlled by the Kremlin."

Electoral Type Event rather than Election by this point. Has been for at least a decade, but still possible to deduct some patterns as the votes are mostly "doctored" rather than numbers made up. On the level of Uganda etc. rather than the -stans.

It is interesting that half of forum members would vote for a party that is likely to get about 1% of the vote in Russia.

National proportional vote: FPTP seats, 150 of 225: Seems Yabloko hasn't behaved well enough to be allowed back in.

Some comments from the LiveBlog:
"Vladimir Zhirinovsky is ready to celebrate the party's second-place result. “We have a male choir!” he exclaimed, according to the Gazeta.ru news website. “There will be no champagne, and not even Pepsi. We don't drink.”
The longtime leader of the Communist Party, Gennady Zyuganov, condemned United Russia's victory as “deceitful.” He said he regretted trusting President Vladimir Putin's promise to conduct the vote with real competition. The presidential administration, he added, created several “false parties” in order to draw votes away from the Communist Party and help LDPR and United Russia win the majority of seats in the parliament.
Mikhail Kasyanov, the former prime minister and leader of the PARNAS party, said the mood at his headquarters was not “very good.” He blamed low turnout in Moscow and St. Petersburg for the results.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev says United Russia won the election. President Vladimir Putin echoes the sentiment. “[It has been] hard, difficult, but people voted for United Russia. People see that members of United Russia — the dominant political force — are really trying [to do good] for people, maybe not all [of their work] is successful, but they do it sincerely and as efficiently as possible”
