I also struggle to believe that Budapest of all places has the highest attachment to Europe.

Could well be an anti-Orban thing, given that much of the opposition to him is based there?

Just at a glance, they seem to be using the pre-2016 régions for France?

Both the French and the Italian maps are definitely wrong. Please do elaborate yeah, except for Sicily these two countries look broadly right - allowing for a strong "shy regionalist" factor in France - but you'd expect one there! - and assuming the Italian poll was taken under a rightwing gov't. Germany looks odder actually (though Bavaria and Schleswig-Holstein are obviously correct). Edit: Was thinking in terms of the states. Obviously if Saxony and Mecklenburg are understood as showing East German identity that makes perfect sense.

Tory Britain v Labour Britain, 1983:- Ian McAllister & Richard Rose calculated 30 constituency clusters in 'The Nationwide Competition for Votes'. Tory Britain (18 clusters) voted 348 Con, 22 Lab and 18 others. Labour Britain (10 clusters) Lab 184, Con 38 and nine others. The seats that voted the 'wrong way' are coloured bright blue/red eg. Peterborough should have voted Labour. (There are two clusters not assigned. They voted Con 11, Lab 3 and 17 others).

The seats coloured in blue were members of the Con clusters so voted the 'right way'. The seats in light blue were also members of those clusters and ought to have elected a Tory MP but didn't eg Don Valley is in Cluster 6, a Tory cluster given the makeup of the constituency. Would you like the clusters posted?

The seats listed as marginals in the February 23rd, 1950 edition of The Yorkshire Observer:- West Fife being marginal between Communist and Labour. I believe the area still has a street called Gagarin Way!

I believe the area still has a street called Gagarin Way! In Lumphinnans to be precise. It is also the title of Gregory Burke's first play (he of "Black Watch").

The seats listed as marginals in the February 23rd, 1950 edition of The Yorkshire Observer:- They appear to have missed at least a few. For example, the two constituencies which contained parts of the old marginal of Frome remained very close. The Conservatives won Wells by 2,600 votes or 5%, and North Somerset was even closer with a winning margin of 903 votes (2%)!
I wonder how they arrived at their list of marginals?

A brief explanation plus the lists. It's certainly not perfect by far better than some of the other 1950 guides (one referred to the old boundaries):-

The large swing in Atlanta since the 2016 election was enough to flip two House seats, two Senate seats and state's Electoral College votes.
