I have just phoned up the Labour Party to re-join. I was crying while doing so, I felt so emotional. I cannot stand by and abstain in the battle for the soul of the Labour Party. I will be PM-ing Kris to ask for my designation to change. It was nice to be non-aligned for a while!

Congratulations on becoming the forum's only Labour Leave supporter, even if it is a week after the referendum.

Not a defection as such. But, in this changed situation, can you make me LD, Kris? I will join the party as soon as possible. I have been a Conservative voter for my entire adult life, but I think that's over now. I feel shamefaced to say this after the warm and generous welcome I received from the LDs here, but I will hang fire for a bit before joining. I shall still vote LD for the moment, but one does not change one's skin overnight. I still think I will end up in the LDs, but one does not change one's skin overnight. I will make a proper and responsible committment to the party before I join. Welcome Tangent - if you are on Facebook, there's a pretty good "Lib Dem Newbies" facebook page (for when you do join, of course )

I see Pete Whitehead (Top Poster) is no longer Ukip purple. I hope he is joining the winning team. What's Top Poster? Is that to do with the awards I've heard about on here?

I think he literally has the most posts.
EDIT: it's an actual description. Odd.

When the current admin crisis is over, I would like to apply to join the LibDem group.
I'm afraid Mrs May has put me off my previous near equidistance. I somehow remained a member of the national party even though I thought I had cancelled the direct debit.

Can I just gloat that I've now been a member of the same party for the past five years? I've been in the SNP longer now than my two stints in the Greens combined. I feel so mature and grown up.

How long was your stint in the Lib Dems? About three months. Sitting on the fence gave me a sore backside.

I see that former socialist group member thetop has joined the Labour ranks. It's years out of date, I just didn't bother making a fuss about it because it's rare that I login, or need to, to access the data on offer (CLP Noms not withstanding - especially after they were temporarily removed).

I see that former socialist group member thetop has joined the Labour ranks. The various Socialists were too moderate for him.
