I have thought of inviting Non-Aligned members to ask for the kind of description Pete Whitehead mentions (not necessarily French sounding ones), to add a dose of colour to the grey exterior of their usernames. We do already have the non party specific label of Socialist for those on the opposite side of the spectrum, although the ascendancy of Jeremy Corbyn has reduced their already low numbers. I wish people standing as Independents in elections in the UK were still able to better indicate to we observers what sort of Independents they are, actually - as they do in France. I don't know why the Electoral Commission have now apparently forbidden the use of "Independent Conservative" or whatever. There will be no such restrictions here on this forum! I am a grey man.

Whereas some of us always expect to see them contemplating the stars. To be fair, the stars at night are much prettier than a close-up of a muddy field. A view of the stars should be a human right, many of us live in areas of light pollution though, we need dark skies legislation.

Doesn't that just mean he's been given some promotion by Swan? I was a 'top poster' once

In the wilder reaches of greendom is there anything that doesn't qualify as a "human right"?

In the wilder reaches of greendom is there anything that doesn't qualify as a "human right"? The UN seems to be close to declaring having a sexual partner is a human right ( Daily Telegraph). Ok, who's volunteering to fulfil my rights?

Members can be given a rank based on the number of posts made at the Administrator's discretion. I've set things so that you're a Newbie until you reach 10 posts, Non-Aligned until you reach 5,000 posts, and Top Poster thereafter. I add everyone to a forum group soon after joining, which hides their rank.
I created the Newbie rank to stop those who haven't posted a minimum of 10 posts from creating threads, to prevent spam and trolling. Those in the Top Poster rank, created by Kris, can and have been consulted in the past over certain matters concerning the forum.

I should point out that ArmchairCritic is still in the Conservative forum group (until he confirms to me he wants to leave it); he's just not displayed as such.

In the wilder reaches of greendom is there anything that doesn't qualify as a "human right"? The UN seems to be close to declaring having a sexual partner is a human right ( Daily Telegraph). Ok, who's volunteering to fulfil my rights? The headline just says that single men will be able to "start a family", which could already be one interpretation of the Universal Declaration, and is of course very much possible without guaranteeing involvement of a sexual partner these days. This should in fact be one of the few broad human rights that Greens oppose, since it will further the possibilities for unsustainable population growth that greatly contributes to the depletion and over-exploitation of global resources. What if you sign up but make fewer than 10 posts in, say, 4 years? Would that rank still be appropriate?
