The Aussie school calendar is not "more sensible" than ours, it's just the one you are accustomed to.
I agree that North and North East Lincolnshire are not 'Humberside', but for the purposes of this review, they do not belong in the East Midlands either.
A 'West Derby' seat could cause confusion in the Liverpool area.

It is not in East Anglia or Yorkshire or the NE so it is in the East Midlands. Liverpool West Derby and Derby West. Who would be confused and why? Electors in each constituency may not even be aware of the other one. they get a vote where they are. Where does the confusion come in except for a third party observer not doing much thinking?

EM-C (Lincs): 521281 = 6.97 = 7In Lincs I've preferred names based on the old 'Parts'. NORTH HOLLAND AND SKEGNESS - 71348 SOUTH HOLLAND AND BOURNE - 75851 NORTH KESTEVEN - 74807 SOUTH KESTEVEN - 77919 LINCOLN - 72002 EAST LINDSEY - 76953 WEST LINDSEY - 72401 EM-D (Nhants, Rutland): 520926 = 6.97 = 7I didn't link Rutland with Corby because it's simply asking for trouble; and, compared with other plans, I thought I should try to keep Corby and Kettering separate if I could. CORBY - 71676 DAVENTRY - 76897 KETTERING - 73083 NORTHAMPTON NORTH - 75405 NORTHAMPTON SOUTH - 76047 RUTLAND AND HIGHAM FERRERS - 73692. All right, I admit I may have been influenced by the 'Downton Abbey'-esque character of this name. Alternatives are doubtless possible. WELLINGBOROUGH - 74126 Well, you showed that pairing Corby with neither Kettering nor Rutland can be done... and that it's not worth the trouble. Two birds with one stone.

Minion -
1 - Welcome back.
2 - I'm springing to my own defence here. Let me concede at once that the separate Corby and Kettering seats aren't pretty; they are long, thin seats with indifferent internal comms and the chief town right at one end. But the alternative is to put the two towns in the same seat and this brings a host of problems. First, the very minimum you can get away with is Kettering town + Corby town + Queen Eleanor ward (to hold the tout ensemble together) and that totals 77349. This means there's no room for anything else, therefore (a) Corby village (i.e. the original settlement) is excluded from the Corby seat; and (b), worse than this, Burton Latimer is shut out of its natural home in a seat with Kettering. What are you going to do with it? Either you leave it as an almost isolated adjunct to some sort of N Nhants seat that might or might not extend far enough west to include Daventry; or you shove it in with Wellingborough, in which case you can no longer keep the whole of Wellingborough district in that seat. You can see these problems if you look at the plan posted by Pete Whitehead way back on 11 Mar. Whereas, if you have separate Kettering and Corby seats: (i) Corby village can go in the proper seat; (ii) Burton Latimer goes in with Kettering where it belongs; (iii) the Wellingborough seat can include the whole eponymous district (along with the town of Rushden, a natural addition). I might add that my Daventry seat offers a compact and well-formed solution for the southern and western parts of the county compared with the arrangement in Pete's plan.
So I humbly submit that separating Kettering and Corby is well worth doing.

I'm aware of these issues; it's why I'm glad to've seen this version which I hadn't tried myself. I've drawn everywhere outside of Scotland at least once; I didn't publish most of it because some of these plans were not good, because once I found this site there were better plans or better or identical versions of the same plans on here already. And then I got interested in other stuff and stopped drawing British maps, and so I stopped going here... I always knew I was going to be back, of course. Certainly once the Commission gets round to doing stuff.

Looking at the new Derby boundaries it would appear that in their excitement the commissioners confused 'East and West' for 'North and South'.

Note that Dronfield has been split: Dronfield Woodhouse goes to Derbyshire Dales while the rest of the town becomes part of "Bolsover & Dronfield".

A humble proposal for sorting out the Dronfield split, the weird jutting Tibshelf salient into Alfreton and Clay Cross, the inclusion of Aston in Derby 'South' and the Allestree problem. Ideally, I'd have had Mickleover in Derby West and Oakwood in Derby East, but the maths doesn't work - and those places would prefer not to be part of Derby anyway.

labour should be happy with notts as its the cons who look like losing a seat as ANNA SOUBRY would have a hard fight in both seats she could pick also Newark and Rushcliffe will see big drops in their majorities.

The name 'Rushcliffe' retires alongside Kenneth Clarke, I expect.
New seat is called 'West Bridgford'.
