I never completed my own redrawing of Oxfordshire because as I say I got bogged down in the new ward boundaries in Vale of White Horse. One thing I had intended to do was maintain the current boundary between Wantage and Henley as that is the old Oxon/Berks boundary (even though it would have to be crossed, as now, a little further upriver). I've now discovered this is not possible without splitting wards as the new Sandford & The Wittenhams ward crosses the Thames

Here's my take on Oxfordshire then. Pretty similar to various other offerings and very similar in all essentials to Aidan Thomson's plan but no split wards needed. Banbury & Chipping Norton - loses Bicester and the four surrounding rural wards, gains 8 wards from the northern tier of West Oxon - 76,988 Witney & Kidlington - The remainder of West Oxon plus Kidlington and YArnton from Cherwell and Wolvercote from Oxford - 76.600 Bicester & Thame - The remiander of Cherwell plus Barton & Sandhills and Quarry & Risingurst from Oxford plus the northern part of South Oxon (as far south as Chalgrove, Watlington and Sandford & The Wittenhams) - 76,991 Henley & Wallingford - The remainder of South OXon plus the VOWH wards of Blewbury & Harwell, Drayton, Hendreds, Sutton Courtenay, Steventon & the Hanneys - 78450 Abingdon & Wantage - The remainder of Vale of White Horse - 76,906 Oxford - the remainder of Oxford - 75,399 Some of the double-barrels are a bit unnecessary perhaps as in some cases (eg Kidlington) they are fairly poxy little places, though in each case it gives some recognition to the fact that the seats are comprised of parts of different districts. IN the case of Henley & Wallingford its particularly important to give some recognition to eh ex-Berkshire component but I though Wallingford would be a nicer place for Henley to be associated with as Didcot is obviously a bit of a shit hole

Looking at the kent/East Sussex pairing, a coastal seat doesn't really work because you need to get around 30-30k voters from Kent and that means going all the way up to Hythe and leaving Folkestone on a limb. You could link it with Dover but there's far too much unnecessary disruption to that area. Taking a big tract of rural Kent creates the kind of monstrosity that upset khunanup so badly. So I've come up with a different plan. Firstly East Sussex, including the cross-county seat Hove - gains Regency - 74,716 Brighton Pavilion - loses Regency, gains Queens Park - 71,566 Brighton East & Newhaven - loses Queens Park, gains Newhaven and most of Seaford - 74,890 Lewes - gains Chiddingley, Hellingly, Hailsham and Pevensey - 75,915 Eastbourne is unchanged - 74,670 Hastings & Rye gains Rother Levels - 75,424 Bexhill & Battle - loses Pevensey, Rother Levels, gains Mayfield, Framfield, Wadhurst - 76,820 Tunbridge Wells & Crowborough - The remainder of the Wealden district and constituency after the removal of Hailsham, Wadhurst etc. Plus the 8 wards covering the town of Tunbridge Wells - 76,824 Seperating Southborough from Tunbridge Wells may not be optimal, and given the average size of the seats here may be avoidable - may have another look at that, but I'm fairly happy with what I'm left with in Kent for now too...

So with Tunbridge Wells effectively abolished, the remaining seats in Kent can all stand in varying degrees of modified form, with the exception of Faversham & Mid Kent, which was never ideal anyway Gravesham - gains Hartley and Hodsoll Street from Dartford - 75,208 Dartford - gains Hextable from Sevenoaks - 75,467 Sevenoaks - gains Edenbridge from Tonbridge & Malling - 72,632 Tonbridge - loses Edenbridge, East Malling and West Maling, gains Southborough, Speldhurst and Capel from Tunbridge Wells - 72,879 Chatham & Aylesford - gains East Malling and West Malling from Tonbridge & Malling - 74,702 Rochester & Strood - unchanged - 75,317 Gillingham - gains Hartlip, Newington and Upchurch from Sittingbourne & Sheppey -73,293 Sittingbourne & Sheppey - gains East Downs (whcih doesnt show on my map) - 73,363 Maidstone - unites all the urban areas of Maidstone together with Boxley, Detling, Bearsted, Downswood and Loose - 75,419 Staplehurst & Tenterden - a new seat combing the rest of Maidstone district, the rest of Tunbridge Wells district and the 8 western most ward of Ashford - 76,465

Ashford - the remainder of Ashford district - 71,303 Folkestone & Hythe - brought back in line with boundaries of Shepway district - 77,333 Dover & Deal - loses Eastry, gains Nailbourne from Canterbury - 71,985 Canterbury & Faversham - loses Nailbourne, Sturry and Little Stour, gains the four Faversham town wards plus Boughton - 76,544 (bear in mind again that the map is incorrect here so the most Westerly ward is not included) Margate & Herne Bay - gains Sturry and Little Stour - it now contains enough areas outside Thanet to justify a name change - 77,165 Ramsgate & Sandwich - the name needs to change to match that above - gains Eastry from Dover - 73,992

An alternative arrangement for East Kent which leaves Dover alone. Makes for slightly more cohesive seats IMO but has the disadvantage that the Herne Bay based seat draws from three districts (which isn't too big a deal abd plenty of my other seats do that) Dover - unchanged - 72,940 Margate & Ramsgate (or just Thanet) which is all of Thanet less Birchington, Westgate and Thanet Villages - 74,969 Herne Bay & Sandwich - brings all the non- Canterbury Canterbury wards together with the above mentioned bits of Thanet and Sandwich and Little Stour - 75,233

And I've just had a quick look at the rest of Surrey and it turns out to be boringly straightforward. Apart from Spelthorne, which I've just dealt with above, all the other seats are the right size except for Runnymede & Weybridge (slightly too small) and Esher and Walton (slightly too big). Since these are adjoining seats and the wards are nice and small, it should just be a matter of transferring one ward to balance things up. The problem (but an easily solved one) is that the only possible ward is Hersham South, which one is naturally reluctant to separate from Hersham North. Taking both Hershams, however, shifts too many electors, so the remedy is to switch Oatlands Park the other way to compensate. This results in a much longer boundary but keeps all the communities together and shifts 4502 votes (net). It gives us Runnymede and Weybridge (75141) and Esher and Walton (74043). For the records the other eight seats are E Surrey (77146), Epsom & Ewell (77417), Guildford (74077), Mole Valley (72400), Reigate (71778), SW Surrey (74494), Surrey Heath (77585); all of which can be left as they are unless there are ward changes somewhere. New boundaries for Elmbridge are coming into force this May (2016). For example, Hersham core is being consolidated into one ward, and parts of Hersham South are being shifted into wards currently in Runnymede and Weybridge - for example Burwood Park will be placed with Oatlands Park, and Whiteley Village with St George's Hill.

I have to admit I was being mischievous! That said, a solution that splits North ward and St Margaret's also breaks social ties given the high proportion of students in the former and the relatively high proportion in the latter. And while the university-employed presence in the three northern Oxford wards isn't perhaps as great as it was a generation ago, it's still pretty high. Whichever three wards are removed from Oxford, there will be significant social ties broken. I readily admit that the contrast between Blackbird Leys and rural Oxfordshire is greater than between Summertown and rural Oxfordshire, but that obviously doesn't mean there aren't significant contrasts between Summertown and rural Oxfordshire. I think the best thing to do is to accept that you're going to break ties between the three wards left outside Oxford and the rest of the city, but to try and ensure that there are reasonably strong ties between the three wards removed so that they're a coherent group. Wolvercote/Summertown/St Margaret's fits that reasonably well, but is obviously not the only option. I don't see any reason to prefer a group of wards in the south or east unless that's the direction the rest of the seat is going to be in. I also prefer a naming option that calls the main Oxford seat simply "Oxford" and finds a way to mention the Oxford wards in the other seat.

Don't know if this will help A new electoral changes order has been published: The Elmbridge (Electoral Changes) Order 2016 (S.I. 2016/301). Introduces new ward boundaries for the district of Elmbridge, to come into effect at the 2016 election, and makes provision for reversion to the system of election by thirds in following years. There are sixteen new wards, all of which elect three councillors. Looks like basically Burwood Park and Whiteley Village are moving in with Weybridge/Oatlands/St George's Hill and separating from Hersham 'proper', so you could split Hersham South along the lines of the new wards and keep Hersham Village together. Have not checked the numbers though

So it doesn't look like anyone's taken on West Sussex yet, so here goes:
The boringly likely minimum change version (given that only 2 seats are currently outside the quota):
Crawley to take Copthorne and Worth from Horsham (this is a no-brainer given that Worth is effectively a Crawley suburb anyway).
Mid-Sussex is a fraction too large, and the only ward it can realistically get rid of is Bolney. Whilst this can be given straight to Horsham, it makes much more sense for it to go to Arundel and the South Downs, which then gives Cowfold to Horsham instead.
However... Whilst this is almost certainly what's going to happen, I dislike it, and think that there are better options out there. Basically Arundel and the South Downs is a rubbish seat (not quite as bad, but has the same issues as Meon Valley) - the populations centres are at the northern and southern edges of the seat, with really bad communications between them (given that the South Downs runs through the middle). Equally, the Mid Sussex seat puts Burgess Hill without its hinterland to try and cram it, and Haywards Heath with East Grinstead which is tight anyway.
My alternative suggestion is to treat the high point of the South Downs as a hard boundary, and to link Horsham with East Grinstead. This means that Chichester takes in Arundel along the A27 and loses the northern portion of the seat (Midhurst, Rogate, etc.). The 3 costa geriatrica seats are unchanged except for Worthing West taking some of Angmering and Findon (the remainder going to Chichester with Arundel). Crawley takes Worth as above, you pair a tightly drawn Horsham + Southwater + Broadridge Heath with East Grinstead using Rusper, Ardingly and Crawley Down as your continuous link. You then have a sensible Mid-Sussex seat of Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Hurspierpoint, Hassocks and the remainder is a much more sensible South Downs seat consisting of Midhurst, Petworth, Billingshurst, Storrington and down to Steyning. This last seat is large, but with reasonable communication all the way along it (A272 / A283).

Thinking a bit more about Kent / West Sussex / East Sussex and Surrey:
I appreciate that it isn't going to happen (not minimum change, and ignores county boundaries all over the place), but I was wondering if you could improve the Horsham and East Grinstead seat that I proposed above by going to and fro into Surrey? East Grinstead naturally looks north, so you could potentially put it with Tandridge district in some way, and take some of the Mole Valley District that lies south of Dorking and the North Downs into Horsham by way of recompense.
You might even be able to put a few of the East Sussex wards in Lewes district with the Haywards Heath / Burgess Hill seat, have a less tight, more naturally drawn 'Tunbridge Wells' set of wards in Pete's cross-border seat and potentially throw some of the Surrey wards back to Kent to equalise things up again if needed.
As I say, clearly not going to happen as both West Sussex and Surrey are pretty close to 'no change' - but if you were wanting to start from scratch it'd be an interesting idea. Might have to try and play around on the new Boundary Assistant to see if it can actually work all over the place.

The "obvious" change is to remove Plaistow, but then Arundel and South Downs is oversized, so you have to put (eg Barnham) to Bognor & Littlehampton. What the BC might do of course is something totally stupid like remove Easebourne to Arundel & South Downs (which given that it is basically a 'suburb' of Midhurst is ridiculous) Still - makes my 'loads of change' suggestion slightly more reasonable. :-)

Buckinghamshire The main issue here is that Milton Keynes is too big for two seats and needs to lose a couple of wards with ripple effects elsewhere. The size of the new wards makes it difficult to draw two seats within quota - I only found one workable option. Starting from the South where the changes are least Wycombe: gains Stokenchurch ward from Aylesbury - 75,849Beaconsfield: gains Penn & Coleshill from Chesham & Amersham - 77,434Chesham & Amersham: gains Greater Hughenden and Wendover from Aylesbury - 77,884 (not ideal in that it contains two orphan wards one each from Wycombe and Aylesbury Vale district but I played around for ages with various options around here and kept getting just over quota, the difficulty being that once Milton Keynes is assigned two seats we are dealing with an average electorate for the other five seats quite close to the upper limit) Aylesbury: less those wards mentioned above plus HAddenham & Stone, Icknield, Lacey Green and the Risboroughs form Buckingham - 77,533Buckingham (& Bletchley ? ): Loses everything from Haddenham & Stone southwards. Gains the Bletchley East and Bletchley Park wards from Milton Keynes SOuth - 77,245Milton Keynes NE: Milton Keynes wards of: Broughton; Campbell Park & Old Woughton; Central Milton Keynes; Danesborough & Walton; Monkston; Newport Pagnell North & Hanslope; Newport Pagnell South; Olney; Woughton & Fishermead. 78,294MIlton Keynes SW: Milton Keynes wards of: Bletchley West; Bradwell; Loughton & Shenley; Shenley Brook End; Stantonbury; Stony Stratford; Tattenhoe; Wolverton. 72,295An alternative suggestion for Milton Keynes

Quite right. That makes your Horsham just horrible though and the less said about a Lewes centred seat without Lewes the better. Well done on getting seat numbers into Sussex to work though. Put under the 'just a bit of fun' or 'first draft' category.

I haven't looked at all the detail but again its a credit to you that you managed to get 16 seats in each of Sussex and Kent without crossing the boundary. I did produce a plan which managed that last time out (like you I thought it far more sensible to have a cross-Sussex seat combingin parts of Hove and Adur)
On one detail of the plan, was it not possible to put Sandwich in with Dover, little Stour in the Herne Bay seat and then move Thanet further to the west to take in one or both of Garlinge and Westbrook? Splitting Margate at that point is a bit messy
