Newent is in Gloucestershire, within the Forest of Dean district. A quick web search shows that there is a by-election in Central ward, with 3 candidates standing. Clare Stone is described as Independent, neither of the other two have any description. I have no idea if she is a Green member, but we do have active members there so she may well be, and surprisingly she is the only one of the three candidates who actually live in Newent (the others live in Upleadon and Westbury-on-Severn). Newent Central result: Julia Gooch (No Description) - 360 (elected) Clare Stone (Independent) - 194 Edward Wood (No Description) - 123 Mr Wood might have been a more suitably green name than Ms Stone?

In addition to the Spennymoor town council election reported above, where the turnout was 19%, there were at least two other political elections yesterday.
Andover Town Council, Harroway - 2 seats
Liberal Democrats 519 / 485 Andover Independents 372 / 277
2 Liberal Democrat gains from The Andover Alliance
Turnout 12.4%
Seaford Town Council, Seaford East
Conservative 800 - 50.5% Liberal Democrat 333 - 21.0% Green 323 - 20.4% Labour 91 - 5.7% Independent 37 - 2.3%
Conservative gain from Independent
Turnout 40.7%
In May 2019, 3 Conservatives were elected along with the Independent all on similar votes (697, 679, 645 with the Independent on 667) whilst Labour polled 403 and 2 UKIP 373 / 359.
There was also a Neighbourhood Plan referendum for the whole of Seaford approved 5,566 (89.2%) to 673 (10.8%) on a 31.8% turnout.

I have dug out the result on 03/05/2007 under the aegis of Sedgemoor District Council Lib Dem 902/875/832 (3 elected), Lab 568/566/552539/523/491 (3 elected).
The parish elections due in 2011 were postponed to 2013, to synchronise with the Unitary County elections and giving the town councillors a six-year term.
As far as I can see, this is not only first Conservative on Spennymoor Town Council, it is also the first Conservative candidate in a Spennymoor Town Council election, at least as far back as 2003 - and probably forever.
Spennymoor Town Council comprises 22 members elected from 6 town wards.
The result on 03/05/2007 was Lab 16, Lib Dem 6, including 6 Lab unopposed The result on 02/05/2013 was Lab 18, Spennymoor Independents 4 The result on 04/05/2017 was Spennymoor Independents People Before Politics 17, Lab 3, Lib Dem 1, No Description 1
There was a previous by-election on 02/05/2019, also in Spennymoor ward, which resulted in an Independent gain from Spennymoor Independents.
The theoretical make-up of the council today is Spennymoor Independents People Before Politics 15, No Description 1, Independent 1, Lab 3, Lib Dem 1, Con 1 The town council website shows it as Independent (Together for Spennymoor) 11, Independent 6, Lab 3, Lib Dem 1, Con 1. There appears to have been a split in the Spennymoor Independents.

There will be a by-election for one vacancy on Stainforth Town Council (South Yorkshire) with the likely date being 19th March, assuming it is contested (and I'm 99% sure it will be)

I have dug out the result on 03/05/2007 under the aegis of Sedgemoor District Council I didn't realise districts in Somerset had taken on the responsibility of archiving election results for abolished authorities in Durham.

Not at the moment, but a Notice of Vacancy has just been published for Weymouth Town Council Wyke Regis Ward. Weymouth is organised on political lines and was well contested last year, so I would expect a multi-party contest. An election has been called for March 19th. Potential for a moderatly interesting contest.
