Oh, Panam Post.
Any website rambling about how Harper is not Conservative enough is clearly delusionnal and not worth the time.

Well, given than they call "oppression" any glimpse of welfare state, I'm not so sure I would take their reports on face value, especially about left-wing parties. Especially as half their articles are just libertarian propanganda. Which is fine, but I don't like websites mixing opinion and information.
Also, it's wierd than you read a website advocating for opening wide open the doors of Europe to refugees, because they are allowed freedom of movement, like every human.

That article is a very impressive bunch of total and utter garbage, likely written by some tinfoil-hat wearing hack.

That article is a very impressive bunch of total and utter garbage, likely written by some tinfoil-hat wearing hack. So what's your take on the Guatamalan elections and why you think the above article is wrong? Because the article is a bunch of utter nonsense and silly garbage seemingly blaming some kind of leftist UN-led conspiracy for deposing poor innocent Otto Pérez, failing to mention that Pérez and his government were hardly better worse than common criminals (without even mentioning that he's also probably a war criminal) and that there were massive protests for months against the government - which seems to have been fantastically corrupt even by piss-poor Guatemalan standards. It seems like the moron who wrote this shit is longing for the '80s, when far-right death squads roamed freely and could hack their enemies to death. All intelligent people hold the CICIG in high regard for the great work it has done rooting out corruption at the highest levels of the state, an admirable and difficult task in a country like Guatemala. The idea that it's an evil foreign liberal-UN/Agenda 21 conspiracy to rule the country is so utterly retarded it's not even worth discussing.

Well if you believe in this kind of stuff, I'd better not waste my time discussing this any further. Not sure why I bothered in the first place.

I didn't realise that there were still people blathering on about Agenda 21 We haven't heard about Common Purpose for a while, either. Lol. Perez presided over something really bent. I'm aware of a company that was considering a betting operation in Guatemala- in an industry where 'management fees' and 'periodic exceptional overheads' are an occasional factor that needs to be factored in, you expect to grease a few palms. What was required in 'set up charges' and 'ongoing licensable activity fees' was so high as to make them wonder if it was a joke.

Wasn't Perez arrested two days before the end of his term? That's not exactly a coup carried out with breath-taking efficiency.
Instead it looks like a tinfoil hat nutter theory, which only convinces those mad enough to assume something like that was right in the first place.

Hence again, Kristopher should check if it's not on of our previous banned posters or just an exceptionnaly thick person.
In any case, I'm sure a quote that long is a violation of copyright law.

Is it? Is there a word limit? I've not heard that before- some publications say you can quote small amounts admittedly and that was a whole article.

It's not the first time Guatemala have elected a curious unstable religious zealot.
Anyone recall General Rios Montt?

It's not the first time Guatemala have elected a curious unstable religious zealot. Anyone recall General Rios Montt? You're unhappy that Guatamala has elected an evangelical Christian right winger. No doubt you would have preferred a curious unstable communist zealot. The zealots were arguably the original Judean People's front, although one of their number Simon, went all respectable/practised entryism by becoming an apostle. It was the Sicarii you had to watch out for. Now they really were nuts...

I can't believe anyone would defend Rios Montt. Totally nutty.
I don't think evangelicals should be encouraged to run anything other than churches which we are not obliged to attend.

Was Rios Montt ever elected? I thought he was a military dictator. He was never elected President. He was elected to the Guatemalan Congress for a term in 2007.

I can't believe anyone would defend Rios Montt. Totally nutty. I was referring to the most recent election, not defending Montt. If you want to hear people defending murdering dictators then I'm sure plenty of you far left friends are only too happy to defend Lenin, Trotsky, Mao, Castro and Che Guevara and many more. Unless they are being evangelical about communism or extreme leftism it which case I expect you're very happy to have them running things. Being pedantic I'm not sure how Che Guevara would qualify as a dictator. or Trotsky for that matter.
