And in particular, the left-wing and far-left parties in Greece. The full list of left-wing/far-left/radical left parties running in this snap Greek election includes:
SYRIZA, KKE, Popular Unity (LAE), a joint list of ANTARSYA and the Workers' Revolutionary Party (EEK), a joint-list of both Marxist-Leninist Communist Parties of Greece (KKE [m-l] and M-L KKE), Organisation of Communist Internationalists of Greece (OKDE), and the Organisation for the Reconstruction of the KKE (OAKKE).

It may be that seeing how little support they had on this forum influenced them in that decision. Perhaps the Union of Centrists will take note..

Latest KKE slogan is reported elsewhere as being "I'm voting for the Communist Party, because I have nothing left to lose!"
Discuss.

Surely voting for left wing parties is all about what others have to lose?

There's KKE (ML) and ML KKE at the same time? Brilliant.

Tsipras is awful and I couldn't vote for him. But I don't especially want to see him punished for alienating his left wing, so I might vote more along ideological lines for To Potami (all hypothetical of course), rather than pushing ND past Syriza. I want to see SYRIZA punished. That were elected on a platform that was a lie, they told the Greek people that they would get them a better deal and what they actually got them was a worse deal. They deserve to be wiped out. I want to see SYRIZA punished. They were elected on a platform that was a lie, they told the Greek people that they would get them a better deal and what they actually got them was a worse deal. They deserve to be made to sort out their own mess, so I cast my vote for SYRIZA.

Well, with one day to go before the Greeks go to the polls for the second time, this year, here is what I currently believe about this election:
1. There is still a small chance that SYRIZA will potentially lose first place in the poll to New Democracy. Even if it does not, they will almost certainly be 15-20 seats down on January 2015, some of which will instead be gained by SYRIZA's splinter group, Popular Unity (LAE).
2. Golden Dawn (XA) is worryingly still on course to achieve a distant third place.
3. The Union of Centrists (EK) is likely to win seats in the Hellenic Parliament for the first time since its founding in 1992.
4. SYRIZA's one-time coalition partners, the Independent Greeks (ANEL) could potentially be eliminated from the Hellenic Parliament, as some recent polls have them below the 3% threshold.
5. Potami, PASOK, and the Greek Communists (KKE) are polling more or less what they received in the January 2015 elections, and all three parties are unlikely to see either a substantial drop to their seat totals or a significant rise in seat numbers.

ANEL had one schtick, which was posing. As ever, poseurs fail when confronted with decision-making.

Junior Coalition partner syndrome. Ask the FDP or the Liberal Democrats.

The Union of Centrists is a one man band. That man is perhaps not exactly what would normally be termed as being entirely mentally stable.
