As you may have noticed I've been looking at old election newsreels published on Youtube. The very oldest one I can find is a report on the Bow and Bromley by election triggered in 1912 when George Lansbury resigned to fight a by election on the issue of women's suffrage. Lansbury lost the by election.

Lansbury lost the by election. Another win for the Blairites? Indeed. Blair was later MP for Hendon (1935-45)
