Whatever happened to the Green Army that Trotsky nicked all his good ideas from?

They became Plymouth Argyle supporters and voted for his UK representative Michael Foot.

We would have declared war on Communist Germany even earlier. Probably before Anschluss. I don't see a scenario in which the Monarchy loses Russia to Fascists though. Perhaps he had been speculating upon a more Spanish style 'oligarchy/theocracy' with titular and ceremonial Tsar? I could well see that having happened. Best not to have sided let alone become involved, at least until they had fought each other to a state of collapse and desperation, during which time we consolidate the Empire and build up our Navy, Air Force and strategic reserves of everything. Then we move in with America and impose the new world Imperium in our model annexing all the oil whilst we are about it. Our currencies are strong and our might invincible. Better not to have rushed out a Marshall Aid programme, nor a scheme to educate and mechanize our foreign markets to become our competitors. We should have kept the rest about three decades behind us until we controlled everything that mattered.

What if Blum had armed the Spanish Republicans? The useless buggers would have lost even if they had been funded by Britain and armed by France. More interested in internal dispute and dealing with the real enemy POUM!

It's worth remembering that Franco wasn't exactly unpopular in Spain. It wasn't just the nationalists v everyone else. Even if Blum had sent materiel, he'd have won.
