Apparently Syriza are 100 votes away from reaching 150 seats.
Edit: now 3,000 votes. Swing of 1,500 required.

Interesting that Syrzia win the forum poll. I'm guessing that their support here has come from left-wing Labour posters, Green/Nationalist posters, but crucially from UKIP posters who share none of their values but hope they will lead to the collapse of the Euro...

They got an endorsement from Marine Le Pen (which they rejected)!

But are they really "far right" as the BBC have just claimed?
Sad to see some posters here echoing Cameron's utterly graceless response to the election result, btw. I can quite understand how Greeks have voted in the circumstances - anybody who doesn't needs to take a look at themselves.

There is now a coalition between SYRIZA and ANEL according to reports from Athens. Given how quick the meeting was anyone would think this might have been drawn up beforehand.

The populist hard left and populist hard right have always had more in common that they like to admit. Same with UKIP vs SNP/Green.
Anyway, the problem is that the Greek voters have a record of believing politicians who promise them fairly obvious fantasies. That's how they got into the mess, and now it's how they think they will get out of it.

Voting for PASOK and ND, the very parties which got them there in the first place?

Syriza's first act in power appears to have been to kill Demis Roussos.

I feel like moving to Greece The beauty of the European Union (which you want out of) is that you are legally entitled to more to Greece right now...

I would only want to move if they wanted me to move... I wouldn't want to use permission granted to me by unelected overlords to impose myself on a country - other than that of my birth - that didn't feel I had anything worth offering them...

The permission for you to live in Greece comes not from "unelected overlords" but from the actions of several elected governments of Greece.

Do not forget the United Kingdom had an in-out referendum in 1975.

Sobering figures: Golden Dawn: 17 seats PASOK: 13 seats Sobering for PASOK, certainly. Maybe it might have been for the best if Papandreou's outfit had finally put them out of their misery. Syriza will be a de facto PASOK (though hopefully more principled and nowhere near as corrupt) not that long from now - you heard it here first
