What do we actually pay our TV licences for? David Attenborough, Match Of The Day, Doctor Who, Line Of Duty, etc. etc.

How much money does this actually save? I can understand the bespoke programming being a money saver, but airing repeats on the channel can't be too expensive?

What do we actually pay our TV licences for? For Nish Kumar and other woke "comedians" to tell us all that we're nasty evil racists.

What do we actually pay our TV licences for? To avoid prosecution. It is an actual tax.

It’s been reported that BBC are going to start showing classic sport from their archives to cover forthcoming gaps in their schedules, and given the extended Parliamentary Recess now upon us, and the fact that many, if not most, of us on here are self isolating, could they not consider those of us suffering election withdrawal, and repeat at least one General Election broadcast a week for the foreseeable future?

The 50th anniversary of 1970 is coming up soon, and that's a classic.

I've got a Tesco delivery booked for the 9th April, and when I logged on earlier it occurred to me that something happened on the 9th April. Took a second or two and I remembered the 1992 election: 28 years ago!

I still can’t get a home delivery before 11 April (which was booked weeks ago) and there’s nothing after that up to 22 so far. Ironically 1992 was when I had a chest infection that lasted from January until just before the General Election and was the beginning of me using a ventilator.

I had to book mine about three weeks ago and even then could only get one of the four hour slots. And Asda wouldn't let me register!!!!

No, I can’t register anywhere, though apparently Sainsbury’s are taking phone registrations if you can stand being in hold for four hours as my auntie did. My mum’s been a Tesco delivery saver subscriber since 2013, we booked the last delivery on 9 March to come a week later, and had pre-reserved an Easter slot for a week on Saturday, other than that nothing before or since.

Given your situation that's really not on. Are there any local voluntary groups who could help? The local CVS here are organising emergency volunteer response This might help www.supportstaffordshire.org.uk/covid-19-support/residents-need-support

I got a delivery saver email today (I've been in it since 2014) saying they'll refund half of March's and that charging for the service is suspended until, well, whenever.

Oh mine was slightly different, got the refund, but they’ve now recognised my mum and I as vulnerable so will get priority on the new slots whenever they become free.

The email said to keep checking the website, but I had a DM on Twitter from them saying they will phone, so 🤷🏻♀️

Is anyone else scratching their heads at the obvious omission from the BBC Parliament schedules of the 1992 general election tomorrow (or indeed over the Easter weekend)?
