Greens have apparently taken Prahran from the Liberals by 261 votes. Recount underway.
Final upper house result released on the 17th, but looks like 14 Liberal (16 with National), 13 Labor, 5 Green and 6 others
Rumblings of electoral reform. Former Premier wants a 5% threshold, Labour 'officials' want 3% or something like that and the Green are say it should be comprehensive.. which I assume means they want PR for the lower house.

....meanwhile in South Australia the ALP have (unexpectedly) gained a by election seat & are back to majority control of 24 seats plus 2 independents (formerly Liberals) to 21 in the opposition. Looks like that government won't be changing for a few years, given the Federal position.

Looks like that government won't be changing for a few years, given the Federal position. And they can try to strenghten it soon, since there is another by-election in SA next month, on the 31. Was expected to be a Liberal hold (swing of 8.1% needed, which is large for a government party), but they got a 7.3% swing in the recent by-election, so, that's not out of the question.

So the DLP zombie staggers on, just about..... It's not the same DLP, except in name. Edit: I love the new one's slogan though: Democratic Labour Party, putting YOU back into Labour. How many Australians are still that annoyed with King O'Malley and his spelling reform?
