Conservatives retained:
- Cambridgeshire, Bar Hill - single member division - with 31.3% majority over UKIP although Liberal Democrat, Labour and Green were all close behind UKIP
2013 majority was 23.4% over UKIP whilst majority over Liberal Democrat was 39.6% in 2009 and 9.2% in 2005
swing UKIP to Conservative 4% since 2013 but 7% Conservative to UKIP since 2009
- Shropshire, Oswestry East - two member "split" ward in 2013 - with 28.9% majority over Labour although Green and Liberal Democrat both close behind
an Independent topped the poll in 2013, winning Conservative second and sole Labour close third whilst Conservative won both seats in 2009
swing, if meaningful, Labour to Conservative ~14% since 2013 and ~5% since 2009
Labour retained:
- Carmarthenshire, Hengoed - two member"split" ward in 2012 - with 2.2% majority over Plaid Cymru whilst People First fell way back
2012 saw top Labour 1 vote ahead of People First (former Plaid Cymru Councillor) with Plaid a further 22 votes behind; Plaid Cymru won both seats in 2008
very small Plaid Cymru to Labour swing since 2012 but ~11% since 2008
- Derbyshire, Brimington - single member division created in 2013 - with 43.8% majority over UKIP compared to 57.6% over Conservative in 2013
Labour gained:
- Harlow, Mark Hall from UKIP - a three member ward electing annually - with a 16.9% majority on ~10% swing since 2014
Liberal Democrats won seats in 2002, 2006, 2007 & 2008, Labour in 2004, 2010, 2011 & 2012 whilst UKIP won 2 seats, including casual vacancy, in 2014
UKIP won the seats in 2014 at its first attempt whilst the Liberal Democrat share fell from 34.6% in 2010 to 3.4% at by-election
Conservatives polled
- 46.0% in Cambridgeshire, Bar Hill an increase of 0.6% on 2013, a reduction of 9.7% since 2009 but 0.2% higher than 2005
- 5.3% in Carmarthenshire, Hegoed having not contested 2008 and 2012 elections but had some 12% share in 2004
- 5.8% in Derbyshire, Brimington compared to 11.1% in 2013, the only previous election on current boundaries
- 24.3% in Harlow, Mark Hall an increase of ~4½% since "double" election in 2014 but some 3% or 4% below 2012 / 2011 / 2010 when no UKIP candidate
- 47.5% in Shropshire, Oswestry East an increase of ~19% since 2013 when Independent topped the poll and 9% since 2009 when 2 Conservatives elected
Labour polled
- 13.7% in Cambridgeshire, Bar Hill, 0.1% higher than in 2013, 5% up on 2009 but 4% below 2005
- 33.2% in Carmarthenshire, Hengoed some 7% / 8% up on 2012 and 3% / 4% higher than 2008
- 62.0% in Derbyshire, Brimington, a fall of 6.7% since 2013
- 42.6% in Harlow, Mark Hall, an 8% increase since 2014, a fall of ~10% since 2012, ~3% since 2011 but an increase of 7% on 2010
- 18.6% in Shropshire, Oswestry East, a fall of 10% / 11% since 2013 and some 1% lower than in 2009
Liberal Democrats polled- 13.9% in Cambridgeshire, Bar Hill, an increase of ~5% since 2013 but a fall of ~2% since 2009 and ~23% since 2005
- 6.5% in Derbyshire, Brimington, approaching a 3% fall since 2013
- 3.4% in Harlow, Mark Hall falls of 4% since 2014, 16% since 2012, 24% since 2011 and 31% since 2010
- 16.5% in Shropshire, Oswestry East having not contested the seat in 2013 and 2009 although candidate is a Town Councillor
UKIP polled- 14.7% in Cambridgeshire, Bar Hill, a ~7% reduction on 2013 but an increase of almost 5% on 2009
- 15.0% in Carmarthenshire, Hengoed having not contested 2012 and 2008
- 18.2% in Derbyshire, Brimington having not contested 2013
- 25.7% in Harlow, Mark Hall, a fall of ~12% since 2014 when they gained 2 seats at a first attempt
Greens polled- 11.7% in Cambridgeshire, Bar Hill, an increse of ~2% since both 2013 and 2009
- 4.0% in Harlow, Mark Hall, the first time contesting the seat
- 17.4% in Shropshire, Oswestry East, again the first time contesting the seat although candidate is a Town Councillor
Plaid Cymru polled- 31.0% in Carmarthenshire, Hengoed, ~6.5% higher than in 2012 but some 19% down on 2008
Residents polled- 7.9% as People First in Carmarthenshire, Hengoed, a reduction of ~18% when they won a seat at a first attempt
Independents polled- 7.5% in Carmarthenshire, Hengoed, ~10% reduction on previous Independent in 2012 and ~14% since 2008
- 7.5% in Derbyshire, Brimington, a 1% increase since 2013 on the highest placed of 2 Independents but ~3% reduction of the combined share
