According to F.W.S. Craig, Crosland was the candidate in Gloucestershire South in 1950 and 1951, and Southampton Test in 1955.

At 24 mins on part 2 David Butler mentions Graham Pyatt as "helping out with a chart on my right." I'm a bit surprised because Pyatt must have been very young at that time or maybe he was older than he looked on the 1970 and 1974 election shows. He may well have been - didn't David Butler do some radio stuff for the 1945 election despite still being a student at the time? He was certainly involved at the BBC by 1950.

Crosland stood in Test in 1955 as he thought south gloucestershire would certainly be lost and wanted a better prospect. As it turned out both seats were lost but the swing was less in Gloucestershire than Southampton. He moved to contest the "safer" Grimsby seat in 1959 and only squeaked in by 101 votes....

You have to remember that with Wikipedia, it MAY be true but then it might not. It is of course more of a us as anyone is free to contribute and if you know better then do feel free to correct.
