And if you're wondering what's going on in the sw of the state With the added info that the Hispanic share of CVAP - lagging well behind share of the total pop - is rising yearly. note that Finney County isn't rural (depends how you look at it, I suppose - agrobusiness town and service center for the surrounding rural area). That's Garden City, listed among those swinging larger cities.

The five most recent Old Etonian Tory leaders
Boris Johnson 2019- David Cameron 2005-16 Alec Douglas-Home 1963-65 Harold Macmillan 1957-63 Anthony Eden 1955-57
The last four before Boris were leader for an average of 4.75 years. Based on that, expect BoJo to go in April 2024.
Maybe Rishi Sunak's slogan can be Win with Winchester.

Now that would be interesting. I wonder if ex Estonian PM Mart Laar is available

That was a joke cracked about Thatcher's cabinet which had several Jewish members, but in fact there never have been that many Jews in Estonia and only a tiny number in this country have their antecedents there. Lithuania, now that's a different matter.

Lithuania, now that's a different matter. Indeed, it was one of relatively few places outside Germany to be declared by the Nazis officially "Judenfrei" before the end of WW2.

Alaska margin of victory for Republicans in US presidential races:
2000: 30% 2004: 25% 2008: 20% 2020: 10%
Will Alaska be the next 'red' state to go Democrat? Trump's margin of victory was not that different to Romney's in Arizona in 2012, and we all know what's happened to that state politically since then.
If the swings continue, Alaska will vote Democrat in 2032.

I'm stretching the use of the word 'interesting' here I know but...
The Lib Dems won 335 votes in the seat of Cynon Valley in the 2016 and 2021 Senedd elections.

The last time where either major party leader represented a seat in the Midlands (either East or West) was 1955, on account of Anthony Eden representing Warwick & Leamington. In fact the East Midlands region specifically has never been represented by a major party leader at any time.

Ramsay Macdonald was MP for Leicester (1906-18) and chair of the parliamentary Labour party , the equivalent of leader, (1911-14)

The Labour plurality in the Croydon, New Addington North by-election in May 2021 was 229 votes. Leonard Fenton was 229 days older than June Brown.

If Mehmet Oz is elected US Senator from Pennsylvania, he'll be the first Senator to have a two-letter surname.
