They could be after all (Source: The Guardian) "There have also been internal discussions about the prospect of carrying out a population-based boundary review. This would redraw constituencies’ boundaries according to the size of their populations – including children and immigrants – instead of the number of registered voters. Some have argued the existing system results in unbalanced constituencies, with inner-city MPs having to represent much larger populations. Downing Street declined to comment on the contents of the speech" If it's population-based, it needs to be based on the immediately preceding census, which then also requires a question on citizenship, as further population-based redistricting must be based on citizenship.

If it is based on population then there needs to be an individual register of all the population, not just those eligible to vote. And of course, students can only only be counted once.

Yeah, if I was setting it up I'd specify that redistricting happen 4-to-6 years after each decennial census, so the next one would be 2035 for a general election around about 2037-2039.

There might not be any boundaries, because in addition to suspending candidates, the NEC may swoop down and suspend elections next. There are a Kafka-esque outfit, which IMO should be reformed. Love football. Hate FIFA. Love Labour. Hate the NEC. Love Europe. Hate the EU / ECHR.

I would imagine that some Labour MPs from outside London, especially those from Scotland, might not be very keen on population-based apportionment.

For someone who supposedly loves Labour, you seemed to spend a lot of your time campaigning to unseat their leader?

Doesn't require a question on citizenship- that quote saying "including immigrants" implies that non-citizens would be included, as immigrants who are citizens are already included. The logic of a population-based review is that non-voters such as children and non-citizens still need an MP to represent them.

If they want to be part of the British system, become a British citizen.

Just stating that if a population-based review happens as suggested by the Guardian, it would be based on total population and not taking citizenship into account, so your assertion that a population-based review would require the census to include a question on citizenship is unlikely to be correct.

It would need legislation to abolish the rights of citizenship. Sorry, you slogged your gutys out for seven years to earn citizenship, **** you, we're now going to give it out to anybody with a pulse.
