5 candidates for the Great Hollands (Bracknell Forest) by-election on November 7th.
Independent (Tory councillor until 2023) Conservative Labour Heritage Reform
Labour councillor resigned. 59.7% in 2023, nearest opponent was a Tory with 27.0%. Spread of right-wing candidates and no Lib Dem/Greens makes Labour favourites at outset.

The comments on the Singh matter have no relationship to elections or electoral law so quite why it was brought up baffles me. This isn't Rail UK so occasional tangents are possible within threads.

Like the Scottish Specials at the end there. They usually announce their election dates earlier, so expect England/Wales vacancies to join those lists in due course. Yes, in Scotland there is prescribed process and timetable for filling vacancies, none of this "waiting for 2 electors to write to the council" nonsense.

I'm going to grab three mates and move to Barking and Dagenham to move those sodding by-elections if the locals don't get on with them soon. FFS!

Or Dog Village near Exeter? It's all about Catcliffe in Rotherham. Catsfield in Sussex? Cat-ton Grove in Norwich? Cat-erham in Surrey? Meow-n Valley? Meowls in Southport? There used to be a Fulham councillor called Florence Pusey. She liked a bowl of milk after meetings, allegedly. There also used to be a Fulham councillor called Arthur Minute. 30 secs was his nickname, again allegedly. And Frank Ing. Worked in a mailroom. I'm wasted on this forum.

I was most concerned to learn of the existence of the Catskill Mountains in New York.

Don't let it be said that this isn't a well thought out plan. Although it has to be said that rather than find two properties to buy/rent sofa surf, it might just be a tiny bit easier to find four friends or party colleagues in Barking and Dagenham to do it. Less of a soap opera but possibly cheaper.

I think Barking and Dagenham holds the record for the longest time a London Borough council seat has been vacant before calling a byelection - one of the 1967 byelections had been vacant for over a year.
