Dreadful conjunction of a constituency From outside Scotland, Dunfermline and WHERE? I mean, is there an Inverness and Escudo constituency as well? Banff and Deutschmark?

I plead guilty to suggesting this name to the Commission in the second lot of consultations. It's less clunky than Dunfermline and East Ochils, which is what they had before, and Dollar is bigger than Eye, Easington or Market Bosworth, say. That said, I'm a bit surprised they ran with it!

When I suggested "Preston City" for a new county council division, I thought it would have been one of the handful they'd reject. Nope. It's still there.

Unlike those suggestions, "dollar" is at least the name of multiple extant currencies. And yes, I'm old enough to have spent both escudos and Marks.

I expect the campaign here will be extensively covered in the Mirror Mirror.

The escudo is still the currency of cape Verde if I'm not mistaken To be fair, I did say "multiple" Curiously and somewhat uniquely Timor Leste also sort of half uses Escudos. They have coins made in Portugal that use the subdivision of the escudo - centavos - for their coin based currency while using US Dollars for note based currency.
