This is also what I think. I have not seen any sign of a Labour surge here, nor have I comes across the Labour ground game. Back in 2017, you could not move for Labour and SNP placards, leaflets and canvassers. It's tumbleweed near me now.

If Labour do sneak through here I think it will only be testament to the SNP's poor campaign – as Forfarshire Conservative says there has been little or no sign of either party out and about, even though you'd think the SNP would want to try their hardest to keep their flagship city yellow. Chris Law isn't a particularly visible or well-regarded MP either (and by all regards spends most of his time in his castle in Angus).

Could this just be the result of the old school getting too old to campaign or dying off. The last two generations are far too lazy and risk averse to want to be part of the ground work canvass. Might still get fair weather delivers but the mobile hugging classes have more important tweet battles and computer models to form and games to play, and they tire quickly and have issues. This may be the start of the end of 'the campaign'? It will become virtual and cyber and literally unreal.

This may be the start of the end of 'the campaign'? It will become virtual and cyber and literally unreal. I think you might be right, but to some degree this is actually intentional. In an other thread Kristofer Keane noted how the SNP are making far more use of sophisticated algorithms and databases to target their campaigning than previously. I assume of course that all parties are making use of this, but the SNP may be particularly drawn to this method given their recent financial troubles. This might in theory be more 'efficient', but I think it loses sight somewhat of the idiosyncrasies of voters – there is definitely a subconscious reputation boost from having a visible presence in all areas of a constituency, nevermind the "miracle" doorstep conversions that happen more often than should really be plausible by voters that these anonymous databases say aren't worth targeting at all. On the other hand I can see why activists dislike the thought of walking miles and miles during canvassing when those who open their doors are far more hostile and disrespectful than in decades past – the effect of social media works both ways, and I suppose some campaigners' natural instinct (wrongly in my view) is to "fight fire with fire" and focus their attention on Twitter as that's where they think the voters can be more easily influenced.

Too close to call, will update nearer the election.
EDIT: Going for a Labour gain here.
EDIT 2: On current polling, changing this to SNP but likely to be close here if the polls are correct.

The Times (Scotland) is reporting that Scottish Labour believe that Dundee and other "SNP fortresses" are in play. These are Dundee, Alloa, Central Ayrshire and Falkirk. In relation to Dundee, the upper echelons of SLAB still think it unlikely that Labour will win here, and so they won't commit active resources on the ground in the final 48 hours. However, they are devoting more funding for online ad campaigns targeting Dundonian voters.
