It is certainly both very wealthy and rural, but it is also where the Lib Dems (and to a smaller extent ourselves) have some strength, and I had expected the Lib Dems to benefit from this. The Cotswolds generally have moving towards the Lib Dems. Yes, despite having a decent candidate I think this result was a bit disappointing for the Lib Dems. There are rumours that Clifton-Brown may become Chairman of the 1922 Committee. If so I suspect he'll only do this term. This seat was never really a focus for the Lib Dems. In hindsight maybe it should have been, but to call this result a disappointment is going way too far.

Notable that the Labour vote held up a lot better here than in Tewkesbury, which maybe backs the LibDems not targeting this one as much.
