I've taken the plunge, and am a prospective candidate for the SDP in Bristol South.

I'm happy to do this for this experience. I think Reform will go for the second position.

If I had to predict my own seat, it'll be:
Lab 57.6% Ref 13.4% (they've got some support) Grn 11.8% Con 10.5% LD 5.1% (his votes will be Hengrove and Whitchurch Park, but nowhere else - shame as he'd be good MP for a target seat like Yate) SDP 1.6% (Hustings and a social media campaign, and doling out leaflets in the streets is all I can do)

Well with five days left, I've done one hustings (the other got cancelled) which was hosted by Friends of the Earth. Only myself, the Green and Lib Dem candidate attended. Both candidates are nice people and very intelligent, even if I don't agree with them on everything. Was rather nervous, but I came across OK.
I have had positive feedback leafleting and talking to people in Bishopsworth which is a boost. I'll settle for anything between 1-3% of the vote. Anything more would be a Brucey bonus. Reform is a paper candidate, as we don't know who he is.

Gentrification has spread south of the river to an extent, but largely it remains down to earth areas which aren't naturally very liberal, yet aren't necessarily right wing either. I do suspect you'll be in that 1-3% range (and sadly closer to the lower end), but with a reasonable campaign and organisation, an SDP like party should be able to hold their deposit in the seat.

And as a message to November_Rain, having stood in similar circumstances in 2010 as a candidate in a constituency where we we had no organisation and hardly any members, simply to establish our party there, I found it a valuable and useful experience.

I knew of a lady from Bedminster or Southville way - very similar to a lot of the feminazis you will find in Bristol Central. I guess there's an element here that got priced out of Clifton, Cabot, Cotham areas. She went to Colston's school as it happens, but was woke as fuck (and prattled on about BLM and Colston ad infinitum), Nought wrong with that, obviously, but it's indicative I think that long-term has some Green potential - it was once Labour's best (and sometimes) only Bristol seat.

How different is this seat to Bristol Central, Brighton Pavilion and Norwich South?

How different is this seat to Bristol Central, Brighton Pavilion and Norwich South? It is very different, it bears almost no similarity with any of those seats. The outer areas are mostly large quite isolated estates that were built by the council, mostly post-war, while much of the inner part of the seat is terraced housing that was built to house workers for the tobacco factories and coal mines.

With the Tories probably out of the running for the foreseeable future, will Bristol North West become a Labour - Lib Dem or Labour - Green fight someday?

Is this the room for an argument? Personally I have no idea what Carlton is going on about, but I'm not going to get involved in his comments.
