Yes - although I am Labour, I don't always agree with the party machine. I supported Dennis Cannavan in Falkirk West all those years ago for the similar reason I hope Corbyn wins this time. Peter Lee in Blaenau Gwent is another example. I don't take myself too seriously on this forum - I mainly use it to learn from other contributors such as Pete and Batman then adding my own tidbits now and then. Peter Law.
Peter Lee was the Durham miner's leader who has a new town named after him. *
* He was also the first Labour leader of a county council.
haha, yes of course - he sadly passed away not long after if I remember correctly

The comments are critical but further analysis/polling(?) is promised:- What the frulg does "Expert data analysis" mean? Did they do a proper opinion poll, or did they just pull some numbers out of a hippopotamus's bottom? Given that the source does odd things with adjusted subsamples and has been caught at it several times, they may as well have been.

This reminds of the PollCat 2022 London local elections "forecasts" - they weren't necessarily wildly incorrect in terms of outcome, but the process seemed to be pretty questionable. Also the figures only add up to 99%...

This reminds of the PollCat 2022 London local elections "forecasts" - they weren't necessarily wildly incorrect in terms of outcome, but the process seemed to be pretty questionable. Also the figures only add up to 99%... If you have only three candidates and they get exactly a third of the vote each, then round to the nearest digit you have 33% + 33% + 33% = 99%. That's the simplest example but generally, rounded figures with more than two options won't always add up to 100%.

That's the simplest example but generally, rounded figures with more than two options won't always add up to 100%. You don't even need more than 2 candidates for that to happen. If A has exactly 51.5% and B has exactly 48.5% then they get rounded up to 52 and 49. I have often thought that (particularly when the top two candidates are close together) there should be a convention that if numbers are rounded up or down to the nearest whole number, the accuracy should be applied more to the difference than the absolute numbers themselves. e.g. A 51.48% B 48.52% should be rounded to A 51% B 48% instead of A 51% B 49% because the difference of 3% is more accurate than 4% or 2%.

Islington North CLP don't know one of their own councillors? ROFL. Maybe these CLP clowns should get more involved locally instead of arguing all the time about Iran and Hamas.
Candidates are always imposed when an election is called. Boo fricking hoo.
