that refers to the aborted selection, doesn't it, not the subsequent selection of Natasha Irons

You don’t seem to understand what the words “this” and “now” mean

I have been told that there is going to be a candidate for the Taking The Initiative Party, but I don't remember the name. Someone from one of the prominent local anti-knife-crime campaigns.

I think the least you should expect that particular party to do is to tell you the name of their candidate themselves, without you having to, you know.

Because details have been passed to the police, and it's not generally considered helpful to an investigation to leak all the details to a journalist.

Natasha Irons (Councillor in Mitcham) has been selected as Labour candidate Just seen a video of her with her dad, hadn’t realised she was his daughter as I’ve never met her. He’s a nice bloke, but a bit of false representation in the video- he’s wearing a Palace shirt but I know he watches Tooting every Saturday, as that’s where I’ve known him for the last 20 or so years!

I don’t know anything about who or what her father is, so I don’t get whatever reference you’re referring to. As far as I can remember, I haven’t ever met her yet - although I might have done years ago with noticing or registering her as significant.

Black bloke in a Crystal Palace shirt near the start of the video. He is, or at least was, a bus driver.

According to Google:
Can't see Crystal Palace mentioned anywhere in the Wiki article.

Indeed. Looks like they play most home games in the Sutton & Cheam constituency, with a secondary stadium in Croydon West.
And of course the original Palace itself started off in the Cities of London & Westminster.
