The Green Party candidate is Michael de Whalley. Cllr Rob Cowell is the Liberal Democrat candidate. And of course there are also candidates in place for Labour, Reform and the Workers Party, for anyone interested in the full picture.

Just the other side of the Wash to Boston & Skegness, but largely bereft of political or media attention.
An older population and lots of rural areas with some holiday homes, and of course, Sandringham. Kings Lynn itself has a younger and more working class population. Transport across to Norwich, or many places isn’t particularly fast, but that helps keep the quieter areas quiet too.
James Wild (Con) was dropped in late on in 2019 to replace the retiring Sir Henry Bellingham. Safe to say he was a Boris Johnson appointee (spad) and doesn’t have a strong connection to the seat, but is from Norwich. Happy enough to robotically parrot the central party line and studiously loyal to Boris (and then Liz) until the writing was on the wall and then did a swift 180. Then again, he has good company among Tory MPs in doing that. Not one for an independent steak.
60%+ Leave voting and heavily Con will buoy Reform hopes. Their candidate, Phil Walton, is a former Conservative councillor and is organised, well versed across the issues and suited to the seat. He is engaged with where the votes are in the seat and keeping himself busy getting signs up on farms and businesses in the area. I’m unsure how much of a ground force there is. I imagine resources in the area are pulled to Boston in the West or Great Yarmouth in the East.
Reform will be very happy if professional candidates like him are popping up with below the radar wins.
Labour could only win here by sneaking through the middle against an evenly split 60% or so ConRef share.
Survation’s MRP has this as the strongest Reform seat in the country (7% lead!) ahead of even Clacton or Boston. They must have something strong in the mix as the other MRP’s all have Reform 6-12% off the lead.
A weak Conservative candidate, no reason for it being in Labour’s top 400, and the Reform candidate’s organisation and prior elected experience means they’re in with a good chance here.

The Lib Dem leaflet here suggests they are the only party who can defeat the Conservatives.

This is now the safest Conservative seat in Norfolk.
The Lib Dem candidate didn’t get the message that campaigning hard to win here was pointless.

For some reason Labour didn't do well - Kings Lynn really should be a Labour seat Labour candidate address in Enfield. Lib Dem candidate campaigned heavily on being local.

Is there a list of seats that were Labour in 1997 but are now held by the Tories? I can only think of the top of my head here and Newark (unfortunately in the case of the latter)
The others going into this that I thought might have been near misses were Cannock Chase, Mansfield, etc but they got them!
