Not a bad showing for Labour there, the best for them in this division since 2005 (which was of course on GE day)
OK for the Tories, in contrast to their result in Cheltenham which was dismal.

Although their votes in the district ward on same boundaries have been considerably stronger in the last 2 elections, although that might be partly accounted for by vote splitting - the Labour candidate did beat both Tories this May...

All villages in England jointly hold the record for being the kost haunted village in England, because the number of ghosts in each one is zero. As a resident of Pluckley now for the last 47 years, I most emphatically reject the claim of most haunted village, etc. It did create good trade for the village pubs for a generation or so, especially round the Halloween season, until Halloween got totally out of hand and the village had to be closed to outsiders with a police-enforced blocade. We are grateful for a return to normal after that but we still get twitchy when anyone resurrects the old nonsense. I have done a number of TV interviews denouncing the whole thing, and the pubs who created the whole thing for their own profit are no longer in the business as pubs, and good riddance. And yet you still haunt the place?

And yet you still haunt the place? His spectre looms large. I'm actually still alive. I think.

I presume then that Caroline Page's father was R. I. Page? A very big name in that field. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R._I._Page "True to his Yorkshire roots, he would not permit red roses in his garden." Yes, Britain's leading expert on runes, apparently. Also a man of strong and determined opinions - his dislike of Tolkien was so great his daughters weren't allowed even The Hobbit in the house! I wish he'd been my dad.

I'm actually still alive. I think. Many ghosts, in myth and modern fiction, have been known to labour under such a delusion but I don't know of any whose social media posts were visible to the living, so I'll take your word for it.

So that's what thw world has come to - proof of being alive depends on the existance of current social media posts.
I think I might prefer being dead.

Not existence, visibillity - existence proves nothing! Of course, it's possible that all of us who still post on such a web1.0 forum are, in fact, dead and do not know it yet.
